Position: AI Data Engineer

Job Description:
Typical Day in the Role
Purpose of the Team: This team works with change management team that reviews all changes that is deployed into production by Azure Services. Work with services across Cloud AI and security, the team measures the service groups, ensuring that all data is reviewed and pushed out to production when fully signed off.
Key projects: The role is seeking a candidate with extensive knowledge in working with data and reporting for insights, identification of gaps and able to propose solution for curation.
Typical task breakdown and operating rhythm: The role will consist of taking the curated data, work on the ingestion, and inputting them into solid reports. Candidate will need to utilize ADX dashboards or PowerBI to accurately project the information. May need to create small ml models, be able to understand how the data looks like the mappings, the models that need to be prepared behind the scenes in order to get these reports up, and then developing certain AI aspects as needed to help. Represent the data in a visual chart to be able to fully tell a story, provide more insights rather than just write a query.

β’ Years of Experience Required: 5+ years experience in business analytics, data science, software development, data modeling or data engineering work is required for the role.
β’ Degrees or certifications required: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Math, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field. Master's Degree in Computer Science, Math, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering
β’ Disqualifiers: Candidates without technical experience or only experience with process heavy, no experience with Kusto query.
β’ Best vs. Average: Best candidate would have experience with Kusto Query language, Python, Azure Data Explorer, Power BI, and PowerApps/Power Platform.

Responsibilities
β’ Daily data analysis to find the gaps and curate the information in the systems working with teams in Azure to ensure data hygiene is maintained in source systems.
β’ Identify data sources and prepare queries using query languages (Kusto, SQL etc.) for data extraction and prepare reports in Azure Data Explorer or Power BI
β’ Design process, data models, reports to surface insights related to all aspects of change management and various workstreams.
β’ Work with services and various Azure Teams to capture the learnings from incidents and store them at centralized location or model for consistent retrieval.
β’ Propose, plan and expedite βidentifiedβ process automations to improve efficiency.
β’ Track and Analyze incidents on day-to-day basis for services for causation and if in scope to understand any association with deployments reviewed/not reviewed and provide the updates to the team.
β’ Provide feedback for any recommended data improvements by services or respective follow-up into the program workstreams.
β’ Plans and creates efficient techniques and operations (e.g., inserting, aggregating, joining) to transform raw data into a form that is compatible with downstream data sources, databases, and formats. Independently uses software, query languages, and computing tools to transform raw data across end-to-end pipelines. Evaluates data to ensure data quality and completeness using queries, data wrangling, and statistical techniques. Merges data into distributed systems, products, or tools for further processing.
Requirements:
β’ Proficient in writing Kusto queries, tuning and improving the performance of existing queries with knowledge of data concepts related to structured and non-structured databases.
β’ Proficient in developing data models (database/tables) to create the reports in Azure Data Explorer or Power BI or relevant BI tool to deliver insightful reports and data.
β’ Proficient to use analytics, which consists of the discovery, interpretation, and communication of meaningful patterns in data (complex and large datasets). This includes applying data patterns towards effective decision making.
β’ Ability to identify rules, principles, trends, patterns and/or relationships that explain facts, data, or other information; and to analyze information, make correct inferences, and draw accurate conclusions.
β’ Proficient in developing Power Apps, Power Automate flows, Lens jobs for data retrieval or storage or other required automations.
β’ Ability to communicate effectively with various Azure teams to closely work on troubleshooting, data analysis and/or reporting.
