Join our AI Innovation Lab in Wexford, Ireland, as an AI Data Scientist and help drive the development of cutting-edge AI solutions for Equifax UK&I. This integral role involves the design, management, and delivery of analytical insights and solutions through advanced data analysis, robust data management, and applied data science. Key activities include performing in-depth data analysis, modelling, visualisation, and interpretation to generate actionable insights; designing, developing, and implementing end-to-end AI/ML models; and ensuring proper governance of data sources, models, attributes, and analytical platforms throughout the project lifecycle. Contributing technical expertise and business acumen, you will collaborate closely with the team to innovate and implement novel AI solutions. The role also entails contributing to the data and insight strategy, supporting its execution, providing thought leadership, mentoring junior analysts, and staying current with the latest AI/ML trends and technologies. Success requires excellent problem-solving skills, strong experience across the data lifecycle, a proven ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams, and a genuine passion for innovation and AI.
As a Data Scientist , you will have the opportunity to manipulate large data sets, integrate diverse data sources, data types and data structures into solutions under management guidance. You will build experience developing analytical approaches to meet business requirements, which involves translating requests into use cases, test cases, preparation of training data sets and iterative algorithm development.
What You Will Do
β’ Utilize combined knowledge of data structures, analytics, algorithms/models, and strong computer science fundamentals to prepare datasets, conduct analytics, and develop deployable solutions with guidance from more senior resources
β’ Leverage knowledge of data structures and algorithms to analyse and prepare data for analysis, assembling data from standard and new data sources
β’ Able to analyse and prepare complex and new data sources and incorporate them into analytical solutions.
β’ Works on moderate complexity tasks in problems often within multiple business or analytical domains, collaborating with other teams to develop predictive models, risk assessments, fraud detection, recommendation engines, etc.
β’ Package, summarize and visualize analytical findings and results for management Evaluate the work of peer and/or junior data scientists to ensure high quality solutions
What Experience You Need
β’ BS degree in a STEM major or equivalent discipline
β’ 2-5 years of experience in a related analytical role, including experience with the design and development of predictive models
β’ Cloud certification strongly preferred
β’ Additional role-based certifications may be required depending upon region/BU requirements
What Could Set You Apart
β’ Masterβs degree or higher in Mathematics, Computer Science , Engineering, Operations Research, Statistics or other related discipline a definite plus
β’ Knowledge of the financial service industry
β’ Contributions to open-source AI projects
β’ Experience with data visualization tools
