Senior Engineer, Dev/Principal Engineer
Dev - AI Core Services Development β Cambridge Hybrid
We are looking for an expert AI Developer to build innovative, standards-compliant, secure and production-grade AI capabilities for a Core AI Services team in Cambridge. Youβll help design, develop, and scale AI-enabling platform services and public APIs that are secure, reliable, and cloud-native.
Key Responsibilities:
β’ Build scalable, fault-tolerant cloud-native services on Microsoft Azure
β’ Develop secure, well-documented public APIs and SDKs
β’ Deliver end-to-end solutions across data pipelines, orchestration, and service APIs.
β’ Embed robust security controls and ensure secure access to AI services.
β’ Design reviews, code reviews, and architectural discussions to ensure engineering excellence.
β’ Create AI solutions, including AI model deployment, training, and AI tooling development.
AI & Cloud Expertise
β’ Experience working with Large Language Models (LLMs)
β’ Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), agent orchestration, prompt engineering, and tool calling.
β’ AI standards like Model Context Protocol (MCP) and Agent2Agent (A2A).
β’ ML algorithms (regression, classification, clustering, deep learning)
β’ Knowledge of AI ethics and regulations (e.g., NIST AI RMF, EU AI Act)
β’ Fluent in developing code using AI Tools such as GitHub Copilot
β’ Prompt engineering to carry out multiple development tasks.
β’ AI orchestration, (AI Foundry and/or Semantic Kernel)
β’ Automated testing and evaluation of AI outputs is a plus
β’ Python and AI frameworks / tools such as PyTorch and TensorFlow.
Core Skills and Qualifications:
β’ Platform or cloud-native service development using Microsoft and .NET technologies.
β’ Microsoft Azure and PaaS services (e.g. Azure Functions, AKS, API Management).
β’ RESTful API design, versioning, testing, and lifecycle management.
β’ Securing APIs, managing authentication/authorization and data privacy practices.
β’ Agile teams and collaborating across global R&D locations
β’ Ability to mentor junior team members
β’ Experience with AI frameworks, tools and Python
