AI Engineer (part time)
Citrus Oncology is seeking an AI Engineer to join our mission-driven virtual platform that employs a multi-specialty approach to Cancer Supportive Care. As a key member of our founding team, you will play a crucial role in shaping our technological direction and building innovative solutions to connect cancer patients with specialized care.
Position Details
- Part-time: 20 hours per week
- Compensation: Equity-based
Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and implement healthcare-specific AIs
• Automate and enhance clinical and operational workflows
• Fine-tune existing architectures for healthcare-specific tasks and domain knowledge
• Collaborate with our engineering team to integrate AI solutions into our technology stack
• Ensure AI systems meet healthcare compliance standards (HIPAA, etc.)
• Evaluate and optimize AI model performance based on clinical feedback
• Research cutting-edge AI approaches relevant to healthcare applications
Requirements
• Degree (BS, MS or PhD) in Computer Science, AI, Machine Learning, or related field
• Strong understanding of modern LLM architectures and capabilities
• Experience with LLM fine-tuning, prompt engineering, and/or RAG systems
• Knowledge of healthcare AI applications and challenges
• Familiarity with Python and relevant ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, etc.)
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and creative thinking
• Strong communication skills to collaborate with technical and clinical stakeholders
