Role description
A nonprofit organization in New York City has a great Part-time opportunity awaiting a new AI Engineer. In this role, the AI Engineer will be responsible for managing and expanding the client's AI chatbots and related AI systems. About the Opportunity: β€’ Schedule: 20-hour week (availability between 9am to 5pm EST) β€’ Setting: Remote schedule, local presence in NYC highly preferred for occasional onsite meetings with the team β€’ β€’ β€’ β€’ 3rd parties will not be considered!!! β€’ β€’ β€’ Responsibilities: β€’ Develop, test, and refine prompts for AI chatbots to ensure they provide accurate, helpful, and ethical responses in legal contexts β€’ Manage existing AI chatbots, monitoring performance and implementing improvements β€’ Document AI prompting strategies, templates, and best practices β€’ Run and maintain open-source Large Language Models (LLMs) in local environments using Docker β€’ Develop and test AI solutions to business needs β€’ Implement safeguards to ensure client confidentiality and data security β€’ Collaborate with staff to understand their needs and translate them into effective AI solutions β€’ Train and orient staff on using AI prompts in safe, ethical, policy compliant manner β€’ Train and support non-technical staff on effective AI system use β€’ Evaluate AI model outputs for accuracy, bias, and alignment with mission and values Qualifications: β€’ 1+ year of experience with AI systems, Prompt Engineering, or Natural Language Processing β€’ Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or related field β€’ Demonstrated experience with Prompt Engineering for large language models β€’ Working knowledge of Docker and Containerization technologies β€’ Basic understanding of Legal terminology and processes β€’ Strong ethical judgment regarding AI implementation and data privacy β€’ Proficiency in crafting effective prompts for AI systems to produce desired outputs β€’ Strong writing and communication skills β€’ Experience in project planning and management β€’ Problem-solving mindset and attention to detail Desired Skills: β€’ Experience with legal technology or AI applications in legal settings β€’ Familiarity with open-source LLMs (such as Llama, Mistral, etc.) β€’ Knowledge of Python programming language β€’ Experience with version control systems (Git) β€’ Understanding of responsible AI principles and bias mitigation
