We are seeking an AI Engineer with a proven track record of designing cost-effective, scalable AI solutions using LLMs. This role requires someone who can critically evaluate and select the right tools, architect robust systems, and guide implementation from concept to deployment. You must have hands-on experience building solutions for education, with at least six months of applied work on LLM-driven projects that have been used or tested in a real learning environment.
The ideal candidate is not only able to build effective systems, but can also speak to established approaches and known solutions that match our use case. You should be familiar with AI interaction protocols such as MCP and RAG, and understand how to use them to improve relevance, performance, and scale in educational applications. This is a highly collaborative role that involves working with different teams to deliver systems that are technically sound, effective for learners, and aligned with product goals.
Key Responsibilities
β’ Design and oversee implementation of AI powered learning tools that support learning objectives and align with platform capabilities
β’ Evaluate and select tools and models based on scalability, cost efficiency, security, and performance
β’ Lead architecture of education focused LLM based systems and workflows
β’ Prototype and test AI driven educational experiences including content generation, tutoring agents, and adaptive feedback mechanisms
β’ Define protocols and processes to support AI reliability, contextual relevance, and data security
β’ Stay current on latest developments in model interaction protocols such as MCP and RAG
β’ Collaborate with the AI team and other stakeholders to integrate AI solutions into core learning experiences
β’ Translate business and educational requirements into robust technical solutions that perform at scale
Qualifications
β’ Minimum 6 months of hands-on experience designing and building LLM-based solutions in an education setting
β’ Proven ability to evaluate AI tools and architect cost-effective, scalable systems
β’ Familiarity with model orchestration strategies and protocols such as MCP and RAG
β’ Strong understanding of LLM capabilities, limitations, fine tuning, and prompt engineering
β’ Experience with cloud platforms and MLops infrastructure
β’ Clear communicator who can bridge technical details and real learning impact
β’ Comfortable working with cross functional teams and independently in a remote environment
β’ Portfolio or case study examples strongly preferred
Physical Requirements
This is a remote, computer-based role. The position requires prolonged periods of sitting and working at a desk, as well as regular use of a computer, mouse, and keyboard.
