Analytics Engineer ( 12 Month Fixed-Term Contract)

This is an opportunity to step into a high-impact Analytics Engineer role within a purpose-led organisation working at the intersection of data, technology, and real-world outcomes. The Role
You will take ownership of the analytics modelling layer, working closely with data engineers and analysts to ensure high-quality, production-ready datasets and reporting outputs. Key responsibilities include:
• Owning and delivering in-flight analytics and data modelling projects
• Designing, building, and maintaining dbt models across fact and dimension layers
• Developing scalable data models with clear grain and schema design principles
• Collaborating with data engineering to support end-to-end data workflows
• Reviewing and improving SQL and dbt work from analysts, ensuring best practice adoption
• Supporting the transition from prototype analysis to production-grade data assets
• Maintaining high standards of documentation, testing, and metadata
Your Skills and Experience
• Strong commercial experience working with dbt in a modern data environment
• Advanced SQL skills with the ability to optimise and review complex queries
• Experience working with Python in data workflows
• Strong understanding of data modelling, including star schema design and data warehousing concepts
• Confidence in reviewing and improving others’ work, with a collaborative approach to problem-solving
• Ability to communicate technical decisions clearly and work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
