Role description
I'm hiring an Analytics Engineer on a 12‑month maternity cover FTC for a purpose‑driven digital health organisation.
This is a hands‑on, high‑impact role focused on owning the modelling layer of a modern data stack - ensuring critical pipelines continue to deliver as the business scales.
The company
A fast‑growing digital healthcare provider working with NHS trusts, insurers, and private healthcare organisations.
They're building a modern data platform to support clinical outcomes and operational performance, with a strong focus on"data for good" and real‑world impact.
The role
You'll step into a Senior Analytics Engineering seat, taking ownership of core dbt models and pipelines that underpin business‑critical reporting and billing processes.
This role is central to ensuring continuity - keeping momentum on existing builds while contributing to new modelling work.
What you'll be doing
• Own and deliver in‑flight data projects (including billing automation pipelines)
• Build and maintain dbt models (fact tables, dimensions, metric layers)
• Design and enforce strong data modelling standards (star schema, grain, metadata discipline)
• Review SQL and dbt work from analysts, supporting best practice and quality
• Work closely with data engineering on pipeline workflows (bronze → silver → gold)
• Ensure clean documentation and handover at the end of the contract
Tech stack
• dbt (core focus)
• SQL & Python
• Databricks / modern lakehouse architecture
• Power BI + semantic layer for reporting
What you bring
Must‑haves
• Strong hands‑on dbt experience (modelling, testing, review)
• Advanced SQL skills
• Strong understanding of data modelling (star schema, grain, dimensions/facts)
• Experience working in modern cloud data environments
• Ability to review and improve other analysts' work
Nice to have
• Databricks / lakehouse experience
• Experience with finance / billing data
• Experience in regulated environments (healthcare, finance, etc.)
What they're looking for
• A confident, independent analytics engineer
• Someone comfortable stepping into an existing setup and adding value quickly
• Strong attention to quality, documentation, and best practice
• Comfortable working in a collaborative, low‑ego environment
Why this role
• High ownership of a critical part of the data platform
• Work on meaningful projects in a mission‑driven organisation
• Modern tech stack with strong engineering practices
• Fully remote, flexible working
• Opportunity to leave a lasting impact on how the platform is built
Interview process
• Initial conversation (technical + fit)
• Short SQL/dbt test
• Final technical + values interviews
