Analytics Specialist

No C to C or Sponsorship Must live in Buffalo, NY Job Title: Senior Business Analytics & Reporting Analyst Overview: This role is responsible for providing advanced analytical support across multiple simultaneous projects and programs. The successful candidate will design and enhance dashboards and reports, uncover and communicate key insights, streamline ongoing activities, and represent the department in high-visibility, cross-functional initiatives. This position requires strong technical, analytical, and communication skills to drive data-informed decisions. Primary Responsibilities: • Develop and produce mid-to-high complexity departmental reports and spreadsheets, including project or product strategy analysis, historical reporting, workflow analysis, and financial analysis. • Identify trends and emerging issues; engage stakeholders to develop and execute project plans. • Organize virtual and in-person events, synthesize input from multiple sources, and present findings via white papers, reports, and other formats. • Conduct complex data analyses across multiple business domains to support strategic decision-making. • Translate large datasets into meaningful insights and present findings clearly and professionally to leadership. • Continuously improve or create new processes through automation, procedural documentation, and custom tools. • Identify internal or external resources to enhance business operations and make strategic recommendations. • Support audits, compliance testing, and user recertification efforts. • Manage planning, testing, and implementation of new projects, systems, products, or regulatory changes. • Serve as a point of contact for departmental system support; collaborate with vendors and technical teams to resolve issues. • Ensure adherence to applicable compliance and operational risk standards. • Contribute to a diverse and inclusive work environment. • Uphold internal control standards and implement audit recommendations or regulatory feedback as applicable. • Perform other related duties as assigned. Education & Experience Requirements: • Required: • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 3 years of related business experience, • OR in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 7 years of combined education and/or relevant work experience. Skills & Qualifications: • Required Technical Skills: • Mainframe systems experience • COBOL • SQL • Additional Skills: • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously • Excellent communication and presentation skills • Experience working with cross-functional teams • Familiarity with audit, compliance, and regulatory environments
