My client are a Global Life Sciences company with around 6000 users globally is looking for an Analytics Business Partner for an initial 12 month Fixed Term role and one day per week in the London office. This is a key role within the Business Analytics team for a finance and analytics professional to support senior stakeholders deriving key insights from their data to support decision making.
The role will suit a motivated practitioner with a foundation in finance and a recent experience in an analytically focused business partnering role. Career progression opportunities will occur through the growth of the business, both organically and through a strong M&A pipeline, and initiatives to deploy more analytical tools and accelerate data integration in the organisation.
High competency in Excel and Tableau (or equivalent) with an awareness of SQL is a must, and experience of any other data extraction, manipulation and reporting tools will be useful as a starting point to unlocking the potential of their data.Due to the heavy focus on finance related data, primarily sourced from ERP (IFS), this role is suited to a qualified accountant who has a passion and experience with data analysis or who has been through a journey through Finance into Data.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities
• Ownership of the accuracy and availability of key reports and partnering with business users to understand the content and context
• Development of new reports and dashboards to support business users derive insights and answer critical questions with an evidence-based approach
• Testing and validating new data sources, providing recommendations for improvements, and translating change request from business users into technical requests based on knowledge of the underlying data structures behind each report
• Apply automation techniques to existing analysis and reports to remove as far as possible any manual steps in providing these to the end users
• Work with data management teams and data owners across the business to support data quality improvement initiatives – through an understanding of source system processes and data flows and provision of clearly presented analysis and reports highlighting inaccuracies
• Collaborate with data analysts across the business to promote awareness of available data sources and instill best practices
Knowledge experience and technical skills
• Tableau (or similar) reporting and dashboard creation
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including Data Query and Data Model Pivots
• Ability to write basic SQL queries to extract data for analysis
• An appreciation of end-to-end analytics processes and data flows
• Experience with user requirements gathering and documentation
• Experience providing written and verbal guidance to users of reporting tools and reports
Experience
• Professional accounting qualification or equivalent
• A relevant degree qualification (or equivalent)
• The ideal candidate will have at least 4 years of experience in a finance focused analytics role within industry or consulting.
