Location β NYC ( Hybrid 3 days onsite)
Duration: Long Term
Key Responsibilities:
β’ Design and implement scalable search solutions using Apache Solr.
β’ Develop and maintain Solr schemas, configurations, and custom analyzers.
β’ Optimize search performance and relevance through tuning and query rewriting.
β’ Integrate Solr with other systems and APIs (e.g., RESTful services).
β’ Monitor and troubleshoot Solr clusters and indexing pipelines.
β’ Collaborate with cross-functional teams including data engineers, backend developers, and product managers.
β’ Write unit and integration tests to ensure code quality and reliability.
β’ Maintain documentation for search architecture and configurations.
Required Qualifications:
β’ Bachelorβs or Masterβs degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
β’ 3+ years of experience with Apache Solr and search technologies (Lucene, Elasticsearch).
β’ Proficiency in Java and experience with JVM tuning.
β’ Strong understanding of indexing strategies, tokenization, and relevance tuning.
β’ Experience with microservices architecture and REST APIs.
β’ Familiarity with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Maven, and Git.
β’ Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Preferred Skills:
β’ Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
β’ Knowledge of containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
β’ Familiarity with Python or scripting for automation.
β’ Exposure to e-commerce or high-volume data environments.
β’ Understanding of Linux system administration and performance tuning.
