Role description
We are seeking a highly skilled API Developer with a strong background in health plan operations and deep experience in C#, Azure Bicep, and Azure Service Bus. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience rewriting legacy processes and modernizing systems in a health plan environment. A solid understanding of the claims process is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
β’ Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs using C#/.NET in a Microsoft Azure environment.
β’ Create and manage infrastructure-as-code using Azure Bicep for consistent and scalable deployments.
β’ Implement and manage messaging solutions using Azure Service Bus for event-driven architecture.
β’ Analyze, refactor, and rewrite existing business processes and services to optimize performance and scalability.
β’ Collaborate with cross-functional teams including business analysts, QA, DevOps, and solution architects.
β’ Leverage knowledge of health plan operations and the claims lifecycle to build efficient and compliant solutions.
β’ Ensure security, logging, and monitoring are integrated into all APIs and services.
β’ Participate in code reviews and technical discussions, driving best practices in software engineering.
Required Qualifications:
β’ 5+ years of experience in software development with a strong emphasis on API development using C#/.NET.
β’ Experience in the healthcare payer space, specifically claims processing workflows.
β’ Proven expertise in Azure Service Bus and Azure Bicep.
β’ Strong background in rewriting/refactoring legacy applications and processes.
β’ Deep understanding of API standards, security (OAuth2, OpenID Connect), and versioning.
β’ Experience with DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps.
β’ Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
β’ Familiarity with healthcare interoperability standards (e.g., X12, HL7, FHIR).
β’ Experience working in agile or SAFe development environments.
β’ Certifications in Azure development or architecture.
