API Developer in Salesforce 12 Months Contract NYC NY- 5 Days onsite An API developer in Salesforce utilizes Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) to extend, integrate, and customize Salesforce functionalities. This role involves using various Salesforce APIs and development tools to build solutions that interact with Salesforce data and processes. Key responsibilities and activities of a Salesforce API developer include: • Integration with External Systems: Connecting Salesforce with other business applications and external services using REST and SOAP APIs. This allows for data exchange and process automation across different systems. • Custom Application Development: Building custom applications on the Salesforce Platform using Apex, Visualforce, and Lightning Web Components, which often interact with Salesforce data through APIs. • Data Management and Automation: Using APIs for bulk data loading, updates, and reporting, as well as automating business processes within Salesforce. • Security and Authentication: Implementing secure API access and authentication mechanisms, often leveraging OAuth flows, to protect sensitive data. • API Design and Best Practices: Understanding and applying best practices for API usage, including considerations for API limits, performance, and error handling. • Utilizing Specific Salesforce APIs: Working with various APIs like: • REST API: For general data access, manipulation, and integration with web and mobile applications. • SOAP API: For enterprise-level integrations and specific functionalities like metadata manipulation. • Bulk API: For handling large volumes of data in an asynchronous manner. • Tooling API: For building custom development tools and managing metadata. • Connect REST API: For interacting with Chatter feeds, users, groups, and other features, particularly in mobile applications. • Pub/Sub API: For real-time event-driven integrations.
