We are seeking a highly skilled API Developer to join our client's DevOps Team supporting the
This is a hybrid role: primarily remote but requires flexibility to attend onsite meetings as needed.
In this role, youβll focus primarily on designing, developing, and integrating RESTful APIs to enable seamless communication between systems. Youβll work in a collaborative Agile environment alongside developers, testers, business analysts, and scrum masters to deliver innovative, scalable solutions.
Key Responsibilities
β’ Develop, design, and integrate RESTful APIs in an enterprise environment.
β’ Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to define requirements and implement solutions.
β’ Work with Java-based backend systems, JBoss, and Red Hat OpenShift deployments.
β’ Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or Tekton.
β’ Deploy and manage applications using Docker, Kubernetes, and 3Scale API Management.
β’ Write and maintain detailed documentation using Jira and Confluence.
β’ Support Agile ceremonies and provide technical input during team discussions.
β’ Troubleshoot API issues, optimize performance, and ensure secure integrations.
Required Skills & Qualifications
β’ 5+ years of software development experience with 3+ years dedicated to API development.
β’ Strong proficiency in Java for backend development.
β’ Experience with RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and service-oriented environments.
β’ Expertise in RDBMS technologies (PostgreSQL, Oracle, MySQL, etc.).
β’ Hands-on experience with:
β’ Maven for build automation and dependency management.
β’ CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins or Tekton).
β’ JBoss application server.
β’ Red Hat OpenShift and 3Scale API Gateway.
β’ Kubernetes for container orchestration.
β’ Bitbucket (GIT) for version control.
β’ Familiarity with Agile practices and tools like Jira and Confluence.
β’ Excellent communication and collaboration skills, especially in a remote-first Agile environment.
β’ Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities with a passion for innovation.
Nice-to-Have Skills
β’ Experience with API monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, New Relic).
β’ Knowledge of OAuth2/OpenID Connect for API security.
