Role description
W2 Only. NO C2C. Remote
We’re looking for an APM & Performance SME to own application performance across 40+ healthcare systems, encompassing patient portals, clinical, and revenue platforms. You’ll define APM standards, baselines, synthetic monitoring, and tuning strategies, ensuring critical workflows meet strict reliability and latency expectations.
What You’ll Do
- Define APM strategy and standards (key transactions, thresholds, metrics) for healthcare applications.
- Configure and optimize APM tools to capture meaningful performance signals and service maps.
- Establish baseline performance profiles and lead performance testing/tuning across key workflows.
- Contribute performance KPIs to SRE scorecards and the Golden Dashboard (reliability scores, MTTx, error budgets).
- Partner with app, DB, and infra teams to diagnose bottlenecks and recommend fixes.
What You’ll Bring (Mandatory Expertise)
- 7+ years in APM, Performance Engineering, or similar roles.
- Deep experience with at least one enterprise APM platform (Dynatrace, AppDynamics, New Relic, Datadog).
- Strong understanding of web, API, and distributed system architectures.
- Hands-on experience with performance/load testing tools (JMeter, LoadRunner, Gatling, etc.).
- Ability to interpret APM data and provide clear, actionable recommendations.
- Solid knowledge of MTTx metrics, SLAs/SLOs, and reliability concepts.
Great to Have
- Experience with healthcare applications (EHR, clinical, payer, patient portals).
- Comfort with SQL and DB performance analysis in coordination with DBAs.
• - Familiarity with SRE practices (error budgets, incident response, postmortems).
