Role description
Evening shift: Snr Application/Cloud/Infrastructure Support Engineer (Mobile SDK and Cloud) for a 12-month remote Contract role with possible extensions. Responsibilities: β€’ Evening Shift 5:00 pm to 1:00 am PT with light weekend on call rotation β€’ Own L2/L3 customer issues end-to-end: reproduce, isolate, fix/work around, document. β€’ Deep-dive diagnostics across mobile apps (Android/iOS) and/or infrastructure (cloud/k8s/network). β€’ Perform network and performance analysis (e.g., Wireshark/pcap, latency/throughput, TLS, retries). β€’ Read/modify sample code, instrument logs, and propose configuration/code changes. β€’ Partner with SRE/Engineering on incident response and post-mortems; contribute fixes/runbooks. Required Skills: Experience with one of the following: 1. Mobile-leaning Engineer: Android (Kotlin/Java) or iOS (Swift) fundamentals; React Native/Flutter awareness; mobile build/logging; offline-first data patterns; local DB (e.g., Couchbase Lite). 1. Infrastructure-leaning Engineer: Linux, containers/Docker, Kubernetes (readiness/liveness probes, OOMKill analysis, resource tuning), cloud services, CI/CD, observability. β€’ 3-5+ years in customer-facing technical roles (support engineering, SRE, dev/support hybrid, or mobile engineering with support exposure). β€’ Demonstrated β€œmechanic” experience: you’ve solved hard production issues and can tell the war stories. β€’ Hands-on with at least one: Android/iOS app troubleshooting or k8s/cloud networking/perf debugging. β€’ Experience with development and or scripting across multiple languages (i.e. python, java, .net, C#, Kotlin, Swift) β€’ Strong English communication; clear, respectful, and succinct with customers. β€’ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent/similar Nice to haves: β€’ Distributed systems/offline-first sync; conflict resolution patterns. β€’ Mesh/P2P connectivity over Bluetooth/Wi-Fi/LAN. β€’ Packet capture mastery; secure comms (mTLS, certs). β€’ Prior 24Γ—7/on-call experience.
