Role description
We are seeking an experienced ArcGIS Geospatial Architect & Governance Lead for a long-term onsite contract in Austin, TX. This role will lead the architecture, development, and governance of enterprise GIS solutions that support statewide healthcare and human services initiatives.
Responsibilities:
β’ Design, implement, and oversee ArcGIS-based enterprise solutions for large-scale mapping and analytics projects.
β’ Establish and enforce geospatial governance frameworks, data management standards, and quality assurance processes.
β’ Lead integration of geospatial data with enterprise systems, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
β’ Collaborate with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and data analysts to drive data-sharing initiatives.
β’ Oversee the creation and management of GIS datasets including demographic, socioeconomic, health, and program data.
β’ Mentor and guide GIS analysts/developers in spatial analysis, web mapping, and data visualization best practices.
β’ Deliver reports, dashboards, and interactive maps to support executive decision-making.
Required Skills & Experience:
β’ 7+ years of professional experience in GIS/ArcGIS, including 3+ years in a lead or architect role.
β’ Advanced expertise in Esri ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, and ArcGIS Online.
β’ Strong background with SQL Server Enterprise Geodatabases and Python/SQL development.
β’ Hands-on experience in data governance, metadata standards, and geospatial policy development.
β’ Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred:
β’ Familiarity with healthcare, Medicaid/CHIP, or public health programs.
β’ Esri certifications (Enterprise System Design Professional, Enterprise Administration Professional, GISP).
β’ Experience with Snowflake Data Warehouse, GeoAI, or machine learning for spatial analytics.
β’ Custom web-based GIS applications.
