Role description
Artificial Intelligence/ML Vision Engineer
•
• Azure Stack
•
• Location: Pennsylvania or Northeastern US
Occasional on-site work in Pennsylvania required, expenses are not covered
We’re searching for a Artificial Intelligence/ML Vision Engineer with strong software engineering fundamentals and hands-on expertise in image processing, computer vision, and machine learning. If you thrive at the intersection of AI, scalable systems, and real‑time image analysis, this role is for you.
This position plays a central role in our Optical Character Recognition (OCR) platform, which powers large-scale, real-time, image-based transaction processing.
As an ML Vision Engineer, you will:
Build & Optimize Vision + OCR Systems
• Design and implement object detection, image classification, and OCR pipelines (combining third‑party + in‑house engines).
• Develop image quality assessment classifiers (overexposed, underexposed, obstructed, etc.).
• Implement data-driven training, evaluation, and feedback loops for model performance.
Engineer for Production
• Write high‑quality, production‑ready Python code using solid OOP and design patterns.
• Integrate ML components into a distributed, message-driven architecture.
• Optimize models for near real-time latency and throughput.
Collaborate & Lead
• Work closely with architects, API teams, DB engineers, and DevOps to ensure smooth deployment.
• Participate in system design, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and adaptability.
• Contribute to enterprise-level project teams and lead system-related work efforts.
• Maintain strong relationships with business owners, project sponsors, vendors, and key clients.
Deliver High-Quality Documentation
• Produce technical design docs, diagrams, test plans, test scripts, lessons learned, and impact analyses—all following PTC standards.
Required Experience
• Strong professional Python experience (clearly demonstrated in your work).
• Solid software engineering background: OOP, design patterns, clean code, testable architectures.
• Azure Stack (Studio, Synapse, Data Lake)
• Computer vision frameworks: OpenCV, Pillow
• ML frameworks: PyTorch, TensorFlow
• OCR tools: Tesseract, PaddleOCR, EasyOCR, or custom models
• Object detection models: YOLO, Faster R‑CNN, SSD, etc.
• Knowledge of classification techniques, feature extraction, and vision evaluation metrics.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365, including Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and ADO Testing Module.
Preferred Experience
• A “software engineer mindset” focused on code quality, maintainability, and design.
• Real-world ML Vision experience: OCR, classification, detection.
• Ability to translate research concepts into production-ready systems.
• Familiarity with distributed systems, enterprise environments, and ITIL/ITSM.
• SAP-related experience is a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Management or Information Systems.
