Role description
A dynamic and forward-thinking technology company are looking for an AI Engineer to lead the development of intelligent backend office automation solutions. This role is ideal for someone who excels in applying AI and software engineering to streamline operations, reduce manual effort, and deliver tailored solutions across reporting, finance, and administrative workflows. You’ll be part of a team building AI agents that integrate with client systems to automate repetitive tasks, improve data flow, and enhance operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities: β€’ Design and implement AI agents that automate backend office functions across diverse client environments. β€’ Integrate data from multiple systems to enable seamless workflows. β€’ Build agentic solutions for: Business reporting automation, Invoice review and payment reconciliation, Email generation using templates, and Data extraction and transformation from structured and unstructured sources β€’ Collaborate with clients to define reporting ontologies, workflow requirements, and automation goals. β€’ Rapidly prototype and iterate AI solutions using Python, AWS, and containerized environments. β€’ Ensure robust testing, performance tuning, and continuous improvement of deployed agents. Essential Skills: β€’ Strong proficiency in Python, containerized application development. β€’ Proven track record in AI/ML, such as computer vision, OCR, and generative models. β€’ Ability to work across the full lifecycle - from ideation and prototyping to production deployment. β€’ Experience using Cursor for AI-assisted development and code navigation. This is a contract position based in Edinburgh. Flexibility on rate dependent on experience and opportunities for future permanent employment if that would be of interest.
