We’re Hiring: Backend AI Engineer | Remote (UK Preferred) Build Generative AI for ESG & DEI Impact Are you passionate about building AI systems that make a real-world difference? We’re developing a next-generation ESG intelligence platform that helps organizations automate reporting, validate compliance, and benchmark performance using cutting-edge LLMs and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG). We’re looking for a Backend AI Engineer to help scale our core AI infrastructure and bring impactful GenAI features to life—from intelligent assistants to inclusive language refinement and regulatory insight. What You’ll Be Doing • Design and optimize RAG-based AI systems for ESG/DEI content, reporting, and compliance. • Build robust, scalable Python APIs for LLM orchestration, document workflows, and semantic search. • Work with industry-leading tools like LangChain, OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, and vector databases like Pinecone, FAISS, or Redis. • Ensure high-performance, secure backend infrastructure built for scale and real-world use. • Collaborate with AI research, product, and compliance teams to meet ethical and regulatory goals. What We’re Looking For • 3+ years of backend engineering experience, ideally in AI/ML-heavy environments. • Proficiency with Python and frameworks such as FastAPI or Flask. • Experience building and scaling RAG pipelines and LLM-driven apps (LangChain, Haystack, etc.). • Familiarity with embedding models, semantic chunking, and information retrieval. • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes). • A mindset for responsible AI, transparent practices, and secure systems. Nice to Have • Understanding of ESG or DEI domains, or experience with legal/regulatory content. • Exposure to prompt engineering or model fine-tuning (LoRA, PEFT). • Familiarity with compliance frameworks like GRI, CSRD, SASB. • Experience with CI/CD, MLOps, and observability tools.
