Salary: Circa £25,000 to £35,500 depending on skills, knowledge and experience Grade: Band 1 Contract type: TfL Reference: 2007 Contract details: Permanent Location: Baker Street, will be required to travel across the network on a regular basis Application closing date: 22 August 2025 at 23:59 Overview Of Role We are looking for a customer-focused Assistant Skills Data Analyst with a keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to managing competence-based training data and systems within the Operations Training and Skills Development (OTSD) team. This role supports the day-to-day operation of learning and licensing systems, helps maintain accurate records, and produces clear and reliable data reports that meet business and legal requirements. You will work closely with internal teams and stakeholders, helping them understand their data needs, generating dashboards and reports, and ensuring processes are followed and documented correctly. Accountabilities Include • Supporting the management of competence, learning, and licensing data using established systems and processes. • Triage incoming support requests by managing a shared email inbox, using prioritisation techniques to escalate appropriately within a multi-level support model. • Create and maintain clear and simple Power BI dashboards and reports using data from a single source. • Work with stakeholders to agree reporting needs, especially where users may be unfamiliar with the data available. • Use and maintain systems for staff competence, health, licensing, or other records where the sequence of actions matters. • Keep and create SharePoint pages and maintain lists, ensuring correct permissions and controls are in place to protect personal data (GDPR). • Identify patterns in data, such as trends or outliers, that may require further investigation. • Communicate insights clearly and explain the meaning behind the data to non-technical audiences. • Follow standard processes with precision, flagging when support is needed to maintain data quality and consistency. Your Skills And Knowledge Should Include • Confident use of Power BI to build reports and dashboards. (Essential) • Solid understanding of Excel and using formulas to manipulate data. (Essential) • Experience using administrative systems to track processes and records (e.g., competence or licensing platforms). (Essential) • Experience updating and managing content and permissions in SharePoint. (Desirable) • Ability to interpret data and communicate findings in a clear and approachable way. (Essential) Your Experience Should Include • Familiarity with the Microsoft Power Platform (e.g., Power Automate, Power Apps). (Essential) • Exposure to Learning Management Systems (LMS), Competence Management Systems (CMS) or Licencing systems such as Sentinel.
