Avamar / Data Domain Engineer

Our client, located New York, NY, is currently in need of a Backup Engineer for a 9 month contract. The consultant will work 100% onsite in support of Avamar and Data Domain backups. The consultant will need to pass a background check and drug test as well as a customer background check, which includes fingerprinting, before they can start. The resource MUST be onsite for the duration of the assignment and there is no exception. We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Solution Architect to design, implement, and manage complex data protection and disaster recovery solutions using Avamar and Data Domain systems. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in designing and implementing data protection and disaster recovery solutions, as well as a deep understanding of Avamar and Data Domain features and capabilities. Responsibilities • Design and implement Avamar and Data Domain solutions to meet customer needs • Configure and manage Avamar replication, Cloud Tier, and Data Domain systems • Describe and configure Avamar features and capabilities, including data protection, disaster recovery, and data management • Perform Avamar server maintenance activities, including disk replacement and node upgrades • Identify and configure Data Domain features and architecture, including data replication, recovery, and security • Design and implement Data Domain solutions for VTL, cloud disaster recovery, and data archiving • Develop and implement data protection strategies and solutions using Avamar and Data Domain • Collaborate with customers to understand their data protection and disaster recovery needs and develop customized solutions • Perform system monitoring, maintenance, capacity management, and troubleshooting for Avamar and Data Domain systems • Develop and maintain technical documentation for Avamar and Data Domain solutions • Stay up-to-date with the latest Avamar and Data Domain features and capabilities Required Skills • 10+ years of experience in designing and implementing data protection and disaster recovery solutions • In-depth knowledge of Avamar and Data Domain features and capabilities • Experience with Avamar replication, Cloud Tier, and Data Domain systems • Avamar, NDMP, PPDM, Avamar 19.8 & later, Data Domain 7.7 & Later, DPA 19.4 & later • Strong understanding of data protection and disaster recovery concepts and strategies • Excellent communication and collaboration skills • Strong technical skills, including knowledge of networking, storage, and data protection technologies • Check and confirm all systems maintenance are running fine and take necessary action to resolve if any on all ten Avamar servers (Two physical servers & eight virtual servers) and eleven Data Domains (Two DD 9800 model & Nine DD9900 model) • Ability to work 100% onsite
