Position: AWS Cloud Engineer
Industry: Robotics
Type: 6-month contract to hire
Location: Fully Remote (EST)
Interview(s): 1 technical screening + 2 rounds with the client
Pay rate: $42 - $45 per hour
Day to day:
• Develop and deploy scalable AWS infrastructure (using CDK, Lambda, EC2, and Kinesis) to support data modeling and machine learning workloads.
• Implement and maintain observability tools to monitor system health, performance, and data flow reliability across distributed systems.
• Containerize and manage microservices using Docker or ECS to improve deployment efficiency and scalability.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and enhance backend systems while ensuring security, automation, and adherence to best practices within AWS environments.
Must haves:
• 4-5 years of professional experience as a Cloud Engineer or similar role.
• Deep hands-on experience with core AWS services, including Lambda, EC2, SNS/SQS, IAM, and VPC setup.
• Proven ability to define and deploy infrastructure using AWS CDK or Terraform.
• olid experience in containerizing applications (using Docker/ECS or similar) and building/maintaining automated CI/CD pipelines and workflows (e.g., CodePipeline, Jenkins).
• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language: Java, Python, or Golang (preferred).
• Experience implementing and managing observability tools for monitoring system health, performance, and data flow reliability.
Plusses:
• Experience with Kinesis
• Industrial Systems Background: Understanding of PLC, SCADA, or industrial automation.
• Edge Computing Experience: Especially with distributed hardware systems and device data capture
Salary and Compensation:
The hourly rate for this position is between $42 - $45 per hour. Factors which may affect pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
