AWS Cloud Engineer

Job Title: AWS Cloud Engineer – Contract-to-Hire Location: Hybrid – 2+ Days/Week Onsite in Lansing, MI Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire Compensation: Competitive, Based on Experience About the Role: We are seeking a motivated and skilled AWS Cloud Engineer to join our Fortune 500 Insurance client's Analytics team. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity with long-term potential, supporting both the current AWS implementation and the broader rollout of future cloud-based analytics initiatives. The ideal candidate will have 1–2 years of hands-on AWS experience, particularly in implementing AWS solutions in a corporate environment. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to build, deploy, and manage cloud-native applications and infrastructure using modern AWS services and tools. Key Responsibilities: • Develop and maintain .NET-based AWS Lambda functions integrated with: • API Gateway • Amazon S3 • CloudWatch • Secrets Manager • Configure API Gateway to trigger Lambda functions and enforce secure access using mutual TLS (mTLS). • Set up and manage logging, error tracking, and metrics using Amazon CloudWatch. • Manage SSL/TLS certificates with AWS Certificate Manager (ACM). • Use Route 53 private hosted zones for internal DNS resolution within VPCs. • Define and manage IAM roles and policies to ensure secure access to AWS resources. • Utilize the AWS CLI for command-line resource management. • Deploy infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as AWS CDK and AWS SAM. • Collaborate with the Analytics team to support scalable, secure, and high-performance cloud solutions. Preferred Experience: • Prior experience implementing AWS in a corporate or enterprise setting. • Familiarity with a broad range of AWS services, including but not limited to: • AWS Glue • SageMaker • Secrets Manager • SQS • API Gateway • S3 • CloudFront • CloudFormation • Step Functions • Lambda • ECR • CDK • SAM • IAM Qualifications: • 1–2 years of hands-on AWS experience. • Strong background in .NET development. • Experience with secure API development and deployment. • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills. • Ability to work onsite in Lansing, MI at least 2 days per week.
