Role description
Iris's client, one of the world's prominent financial services company is looking to hire a strong AWS Data Engineer for a long term contract opportunity.
Position: AWS Data Engineer
Location: Parsippany NJ
As an AWS data engineer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing scalable and reliable data pipelines on the AWS platform. You will work closely with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to understand their data needs and develop solutions that meet those requirements.
Key responsibilities may include:
- Designing and implementing data storage solutions on AWS, such as S3, Redshift, or DynamoDB
- Developing ETL (extract, transform, load) pipelines using tools like AWS Glue or Apache Spark
- Building and maintaining data processing workflows using AWS Step Functions or other workflow management tools
- Optimizing data pipelines for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency
- Ensuring data quality and accuracy by implementing data validation and monitoring processes
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
- Staying up-to-date with the latest AWS technologies and best practices for data engineering
Primary must have skills:
AWS & Data Experience of implementing and delivering data solutions and pipelines on AWS Cloud Platform
A strong understanding of data modelling, data structures, databases, and ETL processes
Secondary skills:
Strong SQL / Open-source technology – Spark/Scala/Java/Python and knowledge of shell scripting and/or Python knowledge
Nice to have skills:
Knowledge and experience of delivering CI/CD and DevOps capabilities in a data environment
