Our government client is looking for an experienced AWS/Azure Cloud Engineer on a remote 12+ months renewable contract role in Harrisburg, PA. Position- AWS/Azure Cloud Engineer Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join our team. This role involves managing and maintaining hybrid infrastructure environments, with a strong focus on AWS (70%) and Azure (30%), as well as on-premises data centers. The ideal candidate will be proficient in Linux and Windows operating systems and possess a solid understanding of infrastructure automation, scalability, and security in cloud. Key Responsibilities Cloud Infrastructure: β€’ Design, deploy, troubleshoot and manage AWS infrastructure, ensuring high availability, scalability, and cost optimization. β€’ Contribute to Azure cloud deployments and manage multi-cloud environments effectively. β€’ Implement and support hybrid-cloud solutions to bridge on-prem and cloud infrastructures. β€’ Complete understanding of network/ vpn /firewall / Security Groups and logging. On-Premises Data Centers β€’ Support on-premises servers including troubleshooting network connectivity in a hybrid cloud environment. β€’ Should have a good knowledge of Active Directory. β€’ Develop strategies for disaster recovery and business continuity for on-prem systems to hybrid cloud. Operating Systems β€’ Manage Linux and Windows server environments, ensuring smooth operations and security compliance. β€’ Troubleshoot and resolve OS-level issues efficiently. β€’ Experience working with Windows Clustering and SQL. Automation and Monitoring β€’ Develop automation scripts and tools for infrastructure provisioning and management. β€’ Implement proactive monitoring solutions to ensure system reliability and up time. β€’ Create detailed dashboard for monitoring. Security and Compliance β€’ Configure and manage security groups, policies,and permissions in AWS and Azure environments. β€’ Ensure compliance with industry standards and company policies. Collaboration and Documentation β€’ Work closely with cross-functional teams to support application and database needs. β€’ Document infrastructure processes, configurations, and incident resolutions comprehensively. Required Qualifications β€’ Proven experience in managing AWS (minimum 70%) and Azure (minimum 30%) cloud environments. β€’ Strong knowledge of on-prem data center infrastructure - including servers, networks, and storage. β€’ Expertise in Linux and Windows operating systems. β€’ Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python,Bash, PowerShell) for automation purposes. β€’ Familiarity with DevOps tools like Azure DevOps,Copilot, Terraform, Ansible, or Jenkins is a plus. β€’ Solid understanding of networking concepts and protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, etc.). β€’ Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Qualifications β€’ Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, Architect). β€’ Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes). β€’ Knowledge of ITIL practices and principles.
