Job Title: Azure Cloud Engineer
Location: Remote β EST/CST
Job Type: Contract to hire
Interview Process: 2 Rounds (Virtual)
Compensation: $50/hr to $60/hr.
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
Healthcare benefit packages for this role will start on the 1st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, financial protection benefits, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options. 401k retirement account access is offered starting on the 90th day with employer matching after one year of service. Must-Have Qualifications:
β’ 3-5 years of hands-on experience with Azure cloud services
β’ Experience with Azure managed services (e.g., Databricks, SQL databases, middleware)
β’ Strong scripting skills in PowerShell (from scratch)
β’ Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred; Bicep/ARM a plus)
β’ Familiarity with Git-based CI/CD workflows (GitLab, GitHub, etc.)
β’ Experience managing databases in Azure (SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL)
β’ Experience working with Jira or similar for ticketing and task tracking
β’ Ability to interpret infrastructure requirements from development teams and build accordingly
β’ Comfortable with Linux/Windows server provisioning and maintenance
Nice-to-Have Qualifications:
β’ Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins
β’ Exposure to HIPAA-regulated environments
β’ Familiarity with AWS and hybrid cloud connectivity
β’ Relevant degree or certifications
Job Summary:
We are seeking a mid-level Azure Cloud Engineer with hands-on experience in Azure managed services to support our growing cloud infrastructure. This role requires a generalist mindset, strong scripting and automation skills, and the ability to work closely with development teams to deliver scalable, secure, and efficient cloud solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
β’ Respond to and resolve Jira tickets related to infrastructure requests (e.g., access to storage, connectivity setup)
β’ Provision and maintain Linux servers based on developer specifications
β’ Collaborate with development teams to gather infrastructure requirements and implement solutions
β’ Automate infrastructure tasks using PowerShell and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools
β’ Manage and optimize Azure SQL databases; occasional work with MySQL and PostgreSQL
β’ Support hybrid cloud connectivity between Azure and AWS environments
β’ Maintain and improve Git-based CI/CD pipelines (GitLab preferred)
β’ Ensure compliance with internal security and regulatory standards (HIPAA training provided)
