Job Title: Azure & Databricks Platform Architect
Location: Remote in the US β(Local to Deerfield or Chicago, IL Preferred)
Duration & Type: Initial 2-6-Month Contract with possible extension or conversion to FTE.

Summary
Chamberlain Advisors is partnering with a leading healthcare organization to hire an Azure & Databricks Platform Architect to help lead the way. This role is deeply technical and highly collaborative. Youβll join a small, focused, low-ego team dedicated to building a scalable, secure Azure and Databricks platform that supports multiple business units across the organization.
The core mission is to configure, and provision shared cloud resources, enabling teams to build and run data pipelines effectively on a centralized platform. Youβll be building CI/CD pipelines, solving real-world infrastructure and data flow challenges, advising on governance and security practices, and influencing platform decisions with lasting impact. The position is hybrid with remote flexibility; therefore, candidates must be local to Chicago or Deerfield, IL.
What You Will Be Accountable For
β’ Configure and manage Azure Databricks workspaces, Unity Catalog, and related resources
β’ Set up and administer core Azure services; ADLS, Data Factory, Azure Functions, and Logic Apps
β’ Design, author, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps (infrastructure and data workflows)
β’ Troubleshoot data pipeline failures and resolve deployment/integration issues in real time
β’ Collaborate closely with security, networking, and architecture teams to align platform implementation with enterprise standards
β’ Provide hands-on support and advisory across departments during early-stage cloud platform buildout
β’ Contribute to and enforce internal policies around data governance, access controls, and platform security
β’ Serve as a trusted resource for technical decision-making on shared platform architecture and direction
β’ Help unblock cross-functional teams by enabling access, provisioning, and platform capabilities
What Qualifications You Need
β’ Bachelorβs degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
β’ 10+ yearsβ experience spanning data platforms, cloud infrastructure, and enterprise systems
β’ 3+ years experience hands-on Databricks administration, workspace configuration, access control, and resource management (not just notebook development)
β’ 5+ years in DevOps, with strong experience in Azure DevOps for CI/CD pipelines and IaC and deep understanding of Azure IAM, RBAC, data access governance, and resource provisioning
β’ Proven success supporting multi-team, multi-tenant environments and comfortable working across both infrastructure and data pipeline domains
Preferred
β’ Experience with Azure Security administration, especially Entra ID and conditional access
β’ Familiarity with Snowflake and hybrid cloud environments
β’ Experience configuring and consuming Control-M job scheduling
β’ Azure Certifications: Administrator Associate, DevOps Engineer Expert, or Data Engineer Associate
