Role description
We are seeking an experienced Azure DevOps Engineer with a strong background in AWS deployments, Identity & Access Management (IAM), and automation to join our financial services client. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and managing secure, scalable, and reliable CI/CD pipelines, as well as supporting IAM governance, access controls, and secure deployments across cloud environments. This role requires someone who can operate in a regulated financial services environment, ensuring compliance, security, and resilience are embedded into all DevOps practices. Key Responsibilities β€’ Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for application deployments across Azure and AWS environments. β€’ Implement and manage Identity and Access Management (IAM) policies, roles, and permissions to ensure secure access and compliance with financial services standards. β€’ Collaborate with development, security, and operations teams to deliver secure and automated deployment solutions. β€’ Ensure all deployments are highly available, resilient, and compliant with regulatory frameworks (e.g., PCI-DSS, ISO27001, SOC2). β€’ Troubleshoot and resolve issues in the build and release process. β€’ Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions for cloud services and applications. β€’ Champion DevOps best practices, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and automation to drive efficiency and consistency. β€’ Work closely with stakeholders to define and enforce least-privilege access models and secure onboarding processes. β€’ Support audits and compliance reporting by maintaining proper documentation and access records. Required Skills & Experience β€’ Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer, Site Reliability Engineer, or similar role within a financial services or regulated environment. β€’ Strong expertise in Azure DevOps for CI/CD pipeline development and automation. β€’ Hands-on experience with AWS services including: β€’ IAM (users, roles, policies, permissions) β€’ EC2, S3, Lambda, ECS/EKS (deployment and scaling) β€’ CloudFormation or Terraform (Infrastructure as Code) β€’ Deep knowledge of IAM best practices, access governance, and compliance standards. β€’ Experience with infrastructure automation tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or Pulumi. β€’ Strong scripting skills in PowerShell, Python, or Bash. β€’ Familiarity with Kubernetes / container orchestration. β€’ Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools (CloudWatch, ELK stack, Prometheus, Grafana, or equivalent). β€’ Understanding of networking, security, and encryption in a cloud context. β€’ Experience working in regulated industries with a focus on compliance, security, and governance. This is an Inside IR35 contract role working via umbrella company and will require 2 days per week onsite in Manchester with the customer.
