Summary:
A seasoned Azure IaaS/cloud infrastructure engineer with substantial hands-on experience in designing, deploying, and supporting Azure-based infrastructure especially around IaaS.
Key competencies include:
β’ Deep technical expertise:
β’ Azure Compute (VMs), Storage, Networking, Identity (Azure AD), Governance, Cost Management.
β’ Migration and Disaster Recovery: Azure Migrate, Azure Site Recovery (ASR).
β’ Backup, Monitoring, & DR strategies.
β’ Operational excellence:
β’ Support in a 24/7 global environment, escalate and resolve complex technical issues.
β’ Diagnose deep Azure platform/service issues quickly.
β’ Act as an escalation point, own critical customer scenarios crossing multiple Azure services.
β’ Automation & documentation:
β’ Build scripts (PowerShell, ARM templates) for troubleshooting, diagnostics, automation.
β’ Create SOPs and technical documents for L1/L2 operations teams.
β’ Collaboration & improvement:
β’ Work with architects to deploy new capabilities and landing zones.
β’ Analyze operational pain points and support strategic improvements.
β’ Qualifications:
β’ Overall 5 years in IT with at least 2 years as an Azure Cloud Engineer.
β’ Strong OS knowledge (Windows/Linux), virtualization, ability to adapt quickly, customer-oriented mindset.
About the Role:
Client Cloud Services' dynamic team to drive Azure infrastructure excellence. In this position, you'll work on high-visibility engagements, building new Azure landing zones, executing migrations, and delivering POCs. Your day-to-day will include diagnosing deep Azure issues, building automation scripts, creating operational documentation, and collaborating on architectural enhancements.
Responsibilities:
β’ Resolve complex, mission-critical issues in a 24x7 global support model.
β’ Quickly isolate platform-level problems across Azure services.
β’ Partner with architecture teams to deploy new capabilities.
β’ Own escalated Azure customer scenarios spanning multiple services.
β’ Automate diagnostics and build scripts using PowerShell and ARM templates.
β’ Develop SOPs and TSGs for L1/L2 operational teams.
β’ Proactively analyze customer experience issues and work toward long-term improvements.
β’ Drive process improvements alongside architecture and operations teams.
Required Qualifications:
β’ 5+ years in IT engineering/operations, with at least 2 years specifically as an Azure Cloud Engineer.
β’ Strong hands-on experience with Azure Governance, Cost Management, Network & Security, AD, Compute, Storage, Backup/DR, Monitoring.
β’ Expertise in Azure Migrate and ASR for migration and DR.
β’ OS administration (Windows/Linux), virtualization knowledge.
β’ Familiarity with ARM templates and PowerShell scripting.
β’ Adaptable, customer-focused, and capable of thriving in fast-paced environments.
Preferred Skills:
β’ Azure certifications (e.g. Azure Administrator, Azure Security, Azure Infrastructure).
β’ Familiarity with automation tools, ARM/Bicep, or Terraform.
