Core responsibilities include plugin development with TypeScript and Node.js, integrating with CI/CD, cloud platforms, and observability tools, and establishing the Software Catalog and TechDocs. The goal is to improve developer productivity, experience, and autonomy by creating self-service capabilities and centralizing developer workflows.
Key Responsibilities:
Platform Management: Design, deploy, configure, and maintain the Backstage developer portal, ensuring its scalability, reliability, security, and performance.
Plugin Development & Customization: Build and maintain custom plugins using TypeScript, Node.js, and React to extend Backstage functionality and integrate with internal and external tools.
Service Catalog: Configure and maintain the Software Catalog to manage services, documentation, and infrastructure components, ensuring data consistency.
CI/CD and Cloud Integration: Integrate Backstage with CI/CD pipelines and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) for seamless software delivery and infrastructure insights.
Developer Experience & Automation: Develop Software Templates using the Scaffolder to standardize project bootstrapping and implement TechDocs for internal documentation.
β’ Programming Languages: Strong experience in TypeScript, JavaScript, and Node.js.
β’ Frontend Frameworks: Familiarity with React is highly desirable.
β’ Cloud Platforms: Experience with cloud environments like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
β’ DevOps Tools: Knowledge of CI/CD tools, Kubernetes, and IaC (Infrastructure as Code) tools like Terraform.
