Job Summary
BI Developer - local to WI
β’ Design, develop, and administer Tableau dashboards following best practices for visual design and usability.
β’ Gather, analyze, and document business requirements to create relevant dashboards and BI solutions.
β’ Build and prepare data workflows using Alteryx or similar tools to support dashboard data needs.
β’ Write complex SQL queries against relational databases (not tool-generated) for data extraction and manipulation.
β’ Ensure dashboard quality by participating in the development and enforcement of Tableau standards and conducting thorough testing and certification of data sources/dashboards.
β’ Perform Tableau site administration across DEV, UAT, and PROD environments, focusing on organization, optimization, tuning, and data security.
β’ Provide mentoring and guidance to analysts on Tableau development and dashboard best practices.
β’ Collaborate with cross-functional teams and business partners to iterate and refine dashboard requirements and deliverables.
β’ Support user interface development and testing with Semarchy (MDM).
β’ Manage multiple BI dashboard projects (3-6 months each) using Agile/Scrum methodologies.
β’ Uphold BI governance standards related to data usage, metadata, quality, privacy, and security.
β’ Present technical and non-technical information effectively to diverse audiences.
β’ Maintain a strong understanding of business needs, fostering customer trust and confidence.
β’ Preferred: Experience with R and Python.
β’ Primary technologies: Tableau, SQL Server, Alteryx, Semarchy, Github.
