Job Summary
BI Developer - local to WI
• Design, develop, and administer Tableau dashboards following best practices for visual design and usability.
• Gather, analyze, and document business requirements to create relevant dashboards and BI solutions.
• Build and prepare data workflows using Alteryx or similar tools to support dashboard data needs.
• Write complex SQL queries against relational databases (not tool-generated) for data extraction and manipulation.
• Ensure dashboard quality by participating in the development and enforcement of Tableau standards and conducting thorough testing and certification of data sources/dashboards.
• Perform Tableau site administration across DEV, UAT, and PROD environments, focusing on organization, optimization, tuning, and data security.
• Provide mentoring and guidance to analysts on Tableau development and dashboard best practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and business partners to iterate and refine dashboard requirements and deliverables.
• Support user interface development and testing with Semarchy (MDM).
• Manage multiple BI dashboard projects (3-6 months each) using Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Uphold BI governance standards related to data usage, metadata, quality, privacy, and security.
• Present technical and non-technical information effectively to diverse audiences.
• Maintain a strong understanding of business needs, fostering customer trust and confidence.
• Preferred: Experience with R and Python.
• Primary technologies: Tableau, SQL Server, Alteryx, Semarchy, Github.
