BI Report Developer

Overview The BI Report Developer has a strong focus on working in enterprise environments. The role is crucial in leveraging Microsoft Fabric, SQL Server, and Synapse Analytics as structured data sources to create insightful and actionable reports. The BI Report Developer will contribute to data governance and change control processes and excel in delivering high-quality presentations to internal stakeholders. We’re looking for • Versatile people who thrive on variety and challenge • Excited about working in a fast-paced environment • Innate problem solvers who want to grow in a flexible, collaborative culture • Takes initiative, pushes boundaries, motivated to innovate • Individuals with a growth mindset who want to use their learning and relationship-building skills • Align with our company core values: Integrity, Accountability, Collaboration, Service and Quality Key Responsibilities • Designs, develops, and deploys advanced Power BI reports and dashboards using structured data from Microsoft Fabric Data Warehouse, SQL Server, and Synapse Analytics • Partners with users across functions at various levels to understand their business process needs and design reporting to measure & drive results. • Develops reports and dashboards via Power BI. • Assists with report migration to Power BI and maintenance within SSRS. • Contributes to ongoing discussions around the evolution of electronic data warehousing within an enterprise environment. • Develops high-performance tabular models within Azure Analysis Services. • Creates and maintains DAX expressions that construct enterprise KPIs and measures. • Partners with developers, business, and IT team members to identify critical data and reporting needs. • Writes, tests, and troubleshoots complex T-SQL queries and stored procedures that support reporting and integration needs. • Writes T-SQL queries that support enterprise reporting. • Writes and maintains documentation on reporting and integration processes. • Participates in the design and execution of governance activities associated with ensuring data solutions architecture assurance and compliance. • Performs other duties as assigned. Required Skills & Experience • A high school diploma or equivalent is required; a bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, business, or a related field is strongly preferred. Equivalent combinations of education and relevant work experience will be considered • A minimum of four (4) years of hands-on experience as a Power BI developer, with a strong portfolio showcasing diverse and impactful reports is required • Expertise in working with structured data from Tabular Models, SQL Server, and Synapse Analytics as data sources • Proficiency in writing complex DAX expressions and calculations to meet advanced reporting requirements • Familiarity with Power BI security mechanisms • Strong data modeling skills within Power BI, including structured data transformation and optimization • Intermediate skills in Power BI Desktop, including using custom visuals, themes, and advanced interactivity • Exceptional data analysis, storytelling, and visualization skills • Excellent presentation skills, with the ability to confidently present to executive-level stakeholders • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities, maintaining professionalism under pressure • Ability to work independently and guide and support others through collaboration, in a fast-paced environment • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail • Self-starter with strong organizational and time management skills, able to handle multiple priorities with demanding timeframes • Demonstrated ability to use discretion, make sound decisions, and maintain confidentiality • Willingness and ability to work flexible hours and be available for off-hour support as part of an on-call rotation • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and modern communication tools for virtual teams (e.g., Microsoft Teams, Slack) Desirable Qualifications • Experience with Power BI CI/CD setup and use. • Experience with Power BI deployment pipelines. • Hands on exposure in Microsoft Azure Data Lakes, Azure Synapse Analytics, or Azure Analysis Services. • Use of version control (Azure DevOps/GIT Methodology). • Understanding of regulated industries work such as telecommunications, finance, healthcare, or related businesses. • Experience with SCRUM methodologies and use of Jira. Working Hours US time zone alignment with PT. Flexibility to accommodate client schedules is part of the role. Location US. Travel 25-50% required.
