Big Data Developer

Provn is hiring a Big Data Developer for a contract role building and maintaining scalable data processing pipelines with Spark, Scala, and Python. This is a 12-month contract with a strong likelihood of extending to 24 months. Comp: $58.90/hr. Hybrid in Iselin, NJ. Contract. You'll be working on enterprise-scale data infrastructure inside a financial services environment, owning pipelines that move and transform extremely large data volumes. The work spans ETL development, performance tuning, and deploying secure data infrastructure on GCP. A background in financial crimes technology is a plus but not required. What you'll be doing: • Designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data processing pipelines using Spark, Scala, and Python • Building and optimizing ETL processes for large-volume data ingestion and transformation • Developing and tuning applications for large-scale data processing • Building, deploying, and securing data infrastructure and applications on GCP What we're looking for: • 7+ years of IT engineering experience • 5+ years of Big Data development using PySpark, Python, and Scala • Strong batch processing experience • Hands-on GCP experience across build, deploy, and security • Proven ability to process extremely large data volumes in enterprise environments • 5+ years in data processing, pipeline development, and performance tuning • 4+ years of design and development experience • Prior financial services industry experience required • Bonus points for a background in financial crimes technology Must be authorized to work in the US.
