Role description
Job Summary:
The Data Analyst II will support data management and analytics initiatives focused on large-scale OMICS datasets. This role is responsible for maintaining data quality, managing complex biological datasets, and developing automated workflows to support research teams. The position works closely with cross-functional scientists and technical teams to improve data accessibility, streamline processes, and enable efficient data-driven scientific discovery.
Key Responsibilities:
β’ Contribute to data loading and curation projects supporting a centralized OMICS data repository.
β’ Identify and resolve data quality and consistency issues within genomic and CRISPR datasets.
β’ Apply artificial intelligence techniques to enhance data loading, querying, and automation processes.
β’ Build, manage, and query large genomic datasets using PostgreSQL databases.
β’ Design and develop application programming interfaces to improve data accessibility and system integration.
β’ Develop automated workflows using Python and R to optimize data processing and maintain data integrity.
β’ Implement and manage extract, transform, and load processes to integrate high-value datasets following established data standards.
β’ Collaborate with research scientists and cross-functional teams to gather requirements and support data management initiatives.
β’ Maintain clear documentation, version control, and reproducible workflows for data processes and code management.
Required Qualifications:
β’ Masterβs degree in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, or a related technical field.
β’ Minimum of three years of experience working with large-scale data systems or bioinformatics datasets.
β’ Strong proficiency in database management and querying using SQL and PostgreSQL.
β’ Advanced programming skills using Python and R for data processing and automation.
β’ Experience managing and curating OMICS datasets including Bulk RNA sequencing, Proteomics, single cell RNA sequencing, and CRISPR datasets.
β’ Experience with code management, documentation, and version control using GitHub.
β’ Knowledge of artificial intelligence techniques relevant to data processing and analysis.
β’ Experience with cloud computing platforms and data infrastructure.
β’ Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with scientific and technical teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
β’ Experience designing and implementing application programming interfaces for data integration.
β’ Experience working with large-scale genomic data pipelines or research data platforms.
β’ Familiarity with automated data workflows and scalable data architecture.
