Description
We are looking for a detail-oriented Business Analyst to join our team on a Contract to permanent basis in Columbia, South Carolina. This role is vital in supporting higher education operations, focusing on data analysis, process improvement, and effective communication with faculty and leadership. The ideal candidate will leverage their analytical expertise to enhance scheduling, academic planning, and business intelligence initiatives. THIS IS 100% ONSITE IN COLUMBIA, SC
Responsibilities
β’ Analyze and interpret data to identify gaps, trends, and opportunities for process improvement within academic operations.
β’ Utilize tools such as Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and formulas, to compile and analyze complex datasets.
β’ Collaborate with faculty and leadership to adjust classroom schedules and academic calendars based on organizational needs.
β’ Develop and maintain master schedules and electronic scheduling systems to ensure efficient resource allocation.
β’ Facilitate communication between committees, faculty, and the dean to provide timely updates and actionable insights.
β’ Apply business intelligence techniques to improve scheduling, staff allocation, and academic planning processes.
β’ Conduct A/B testing to evaluate the effectiveness of changes and improvements in academic workflows.
β’ Create comprehensive business requirement documents to support decision-making processes.
β’ Proactively identify and implement process improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
β’ Communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure alignment on goals, timelines, and deliverables.
Requirements
β’ Associate degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
β’ Proven experience in business analysis, preferably within a higher education setting.
β’ Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced features such as pivot tables and formulas.
β’ Strong understanding of scheduling systems and tools, including integrated master schedules and electronic schedulers.
β’ Experience with gap analysis and process improvement initiatives.
β’ Familiarity with business intelligence tools such as Power BI.
β’ Excellent communication skills to interact with faculty, committees, and leadership.
β’ Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a dynamic environment.
