Location: Richmond, VA Position Type: Hybrid Hybrid Schedule: 3 days onsite Contract Length: 12 - 18 months Position Overview: Seeking an experienced IT Business Analyst with over five years of expertise in software and application projects, capable of bridging the gap between technical teams and business stakeholders. This role requires strong analytical skills, technical fluency, and hands-on experience with Agile and Waterfall methodologies. Required Skills: • 5 years of experience as an Agile Business Analyst with a strong understanding of Scrum concepts and methodologies. • 5 years of hands-on experience with Scrum, Agile, Scaled Agile, and Kanban methodologies. • 5 years of technical experience organizing and maintaining sprint and product backlogs. • 5 years of technical experience translating client and product strategy requirements into application requirements and user stories. • 5 years of experience documenting high-level test strategy, test plans, test cases, and executing test cases. • 3 years of experience analyzing and documenting business and system processes. Preferred Skills: • Prior State of Virginia IT Business Analyst experience is highly desired. Duties: • Analyze and deconstruct complex systems and processes into manageable components. • Conduct stakeholder interviews and workshops to gather business and technical requirements. • Document clear, testable functional and non-functional requirements. • Utilize Azure DevOps (TFS) to manage product backlogs, epics, features, user stories, tasks, test plans, and test cases. • Develop data flow diagrams and process maps (swim lanes, flow charts) to illustrate system modifications. • Communicate effectively between business users and technical teams to ensure shared understanding. • Support Agile/Scrum (including SAFe) and Waterfall project execution. • Assist with IT system integration testing and support user acceptance testing (UAT). • Drive user adoption of new systems and processes through effective rollout strategies. • Resolve conflicts, negotiate priorities, and present findings and recommendations clearly to all levels of stakeholders.
