Overview
Our client is modernizing critical business systems and accelerating custom application development to improve operational efficiency, strengthen compliance, and unlock data-driven decision-making. LABUR is supporting this transformation through an engagement that requires a Business Analyst / Application Development Specialist who can translate business priorities into actionable delivery plans, guide teams through modern SDLC practices, and ensure new solutions are adopted, scalable, and aligned to measurable business outcomes. This specialist will partner closely with product, engineering, testing, data, and compliance stakeholders to bring clarity, continuity, and structure to a complex, multi-team environment.
Responsibilities
β’ Translate business needs into clear requirements, user stories, and a prioritized backlog for custom application development.
β’ Partner with product, engineering, QA, release, and data teams to ensure alignment across the SDLC.
β’ Support sprint ceremonies, backlog refinement, and Agile delivery practices.
β’ Assist in test planning, defect triage, and release readiness, including compliance with governance and regulatory requirements.
β’ Maintain concise, transparent reporting on progress, risks, dependencies, and decisions.
β’ Support change management activities such as stakeholder communication, training coordination, and adoption tracking.
Qualifications
β’ 4-6 years of experience in application development environments, ideally in consulting or custom-build programs.
β’ Strong understanding of SDLC, Agile/Scrum, requirements management, and multi-team coordination.
β’ Experience working with engineering, product, QA/testing, and Release Management teams.
β’ Familiarity with test planning, release activities, and governance processes.
β’ Healthcare or other regulated-industry experience is a plus.
β’ Excellent communication skills; able to work independently in fast-paced settings.
β’ Proficiency with Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and intermediate Excel.
β’ Bachelorβs degree required.
β’ Agile certifications (ScrumMaster/PSM, SAFe) or PMP would be nice to have.
β’ Exposure to modern application architectures, cloud services, and integration patterns is preferred.
Compensation
$75 - $85 per hour - Dependent on fit and experience.
