Purpose
As a Target Operating Model (TOM) Business Analyst, you will play a key role in delivering operational change that supports London CIV's Fit for the Future strategic plan. Working closely with the Operations team and cross-functional stakeholders, you will help design and implement future state operating models, streamline workflows, and strengthen our operational data management framework.
This is a varied role involving process mapping, requirement gathering, testing, and documentation, alongside driving continuous improvements in efficiency, data quality, and control. The successful candidate will help ensure our operational processes are robust, effective, and aligned with strategic objectives.
This will initially be a 12-month fixed-term contract. We are happy to consider either an Inside IR35 arrangement or a salaried position for this role.
First 3 Months - Priority Deliverables
In the initial stage of the role, you will focus on building a clear picture of our current operating environment and laying the groundwork for future state design. Key priorities will include:
Mapping existing ('as-is') operational workflows for trade capture, cash management, reconciliations, client reporting, and subscription/redemption processes for client assets transitioning to London CIV
Drafting initial ('to-be') process designs aligned with London CIV's operational strategy and TOM objectives
Supporting the discovery and documentation of current data flows and dependencies to inform the creation of an operational data model
Building strong working relationships with internal teams and third-party providers to validate requirements and secure alignment
Producing key artefacts including process maps, RAID logs, and RACI charts
Identifying and helping deliver quick-win process improvements that add immediate value
What You'll Be Doing
Process Analysis & Design
Lead process mapping and workflow design activities to support the delivery of Target Operating Models
Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure designs are aligned with operational strategy and control requirements
Support the creation of an operational data model to improve efficiency, transparency, and governance
Stakeholder Engagement & Requirements Gathering
Work with internal teams and external providers to gather, refine, and validate operational requirements
Produce clear, high-quality artefacts to underpin delivery and communicate changes effectively
Delivery & Implementation Support
Contribute to test planning, UAT execution, and readiness assessments for new workflows and tools
Support delivery of process and data improvements, monitoring progress through agreed governance frameworks
Continuous Improvement
Identify opportunities for efficiency gains, improved data quality, and stronger operational controls
Contribute to the refinement of operational policies, processes, and procedures
Essential
What You'll Bring
Experience as a Business Analyst in asset management, fund operations, or third-party administrator environments
Strong working knowledge of operational workflows such as reconciliations, NAV oversight, trade lifecycle, client reporting, or fund onboarding
Proven ability to produce clear, high-quality process maps, requirements logs, and change documentation
Experience supporting data discovery, mapping data lineage, or implementing changes to reporting processes
Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work across internal teams and external providers
Highly organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple workstreams
Desirable
Familiarity with project management and collaboration tools such as monday.com
Experience delivering TOM or process re-engineering initiatives in a regulated environment
