Business Analyst (Contract)
Please note that this is a contract role providing services to Microsoft through external staffing partners of Allegis Global Solutions. If you are selected for this role, you will be employed by AGS and will not be an employee of Microsoft.
Summary
This position offers an exciting opportunity to play a critical role in maintaining data accuracy and operational excellence within a dynamic supply chain environment. The successful candidate will be instrumental in managing inventory reconciliation processes, ensuring data quality across multiple systems, and supporting streamlined workflows following major system implementations. This role requires a detail-oriented professional who can navigate complex data landscapes while collaborating effectively with both internal teams and external partners. The position demands someone who can independently analyze large datasets, identify trends and discrepancies, and drive solutions that improve overall inventory accuracy and reporting capabilities. As a key contributor to cross-functional initiatives, this individual will bridge the gap between technical data analysis and practical business operations, ensuring seamless communication and process optimization across the organization.
Job Responsibilities
β’ Perform comprehensive inventory reconciliation and management activities to ensure accuracy across all systems and reporting platforms
β’ Analyze large datasets to identify trends, discrepancies, and data quality issues, providing detailed reporting and recommendations
β’ Establish and maintain communication channels across business units and with external supplier partners
β’ Review and evaluate contracts, cost proposals, and contract supplements related to inventory and supply chain operations
β’ Document and establish business processes to support inventory serialization and reconciliation workflows
β’ Track project budgets and expenditures while monitoring transaction controls and costs against established budgets
β’ Conduct root cause analysis on complex data issues and implement corrective actions
β’ Support the onboarding of suppliers to business-to-business processes and ensure compliance with established protocols
β’ Maintain storage and retrieval systems for all project communications data and business metrics
β’ Predict potential budget overruns and provide viable solutions to management
β’ Collaborate with supply chain and engineering teams to optimize execution workflows
Requirements
β’ Minimum 5-7 years of experience in inventory management and reconciliation
β’ Minimum 5-7 years of experience with data quality analysis and reporting
β’ Minimum 2-3 years of experience with supply chain processes and execution workflows
β’ Bachelor's degree in business management, economics, finance, accounting, or related field required
β’ Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to convey complex information clearly
β’ Exceptional attention to detail and data accuracy
β’ Advanced analytical skills with ability to work with large datasets and identify patterns
β’ Ability to work independently and manage time effectively across multiple priorities
β’ Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to collaborate across diverse teams
β’ Customer service orientation with focus on building and maintaining relationships
β’ Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning and resource allocation
β’ Ability to apply accounting and mathematical principles to business operations
β’ Proficiency with computer applications including Microsoft Word and Excel
β’ Experience with enterprise applications and business intelligence tools
β’ Problem-solving capabilities with demonstrated track record of resolving complex issues
β’ Self-starter mentality with ability to ramp up quickly in fast-paced environments
