IT Business Analyst Topeka, KS (remote) 6 month contract to hire Overview Our client is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented IT Technical Business Analyst to support a large-scale enterprise systems integration initiative within the Department for Children and Families (DCF). This role serves as a critical liaison between business units, technical teams, and external partners, helping to modernize and streamline complex IT systems. Ideal candidates will bring strong analytical skills, technical acumen, and leadership experience in business analysis, particularly within agile or hybrid environments. General Responsibilities: β€’ Serve as the Lead Business Analyst on multi-million-dollar enterprise integration projects. β€’ Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including DCF, HS-EBIT, third-party vendors, and government agencies. β€’ Facilitate workshops, stakeholder interviews, and collaborative sessions to gather and document business and system requirements. β€’ Analyze current systems, workflows, and data flows to identify opportunities for modernization and automation. β€’ Translate business needs into technical specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria. β€’ Lead documentation of current and future state processes, policies, and system interfaces. β€’ Support interface/integration management and configuration/reporting activities. β€’ Assist with data analysis and reporting using tools like SQL, Power BI, and Tableau. β€’ Coordinate with QA teams for test case design, UAT, and solution validation. β€’ Manage requirements traceability, version control, and change management throughout the SDLC. Qualifications: β€’ Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Business Analyst, including 2+ years in a lead role. β€’ Proven experience in analyzing and documenting business and technical requirements for systems integrations. β€’ Strong understanding of modern IT systems, data architecture, and cloud-based solutions. β€’ Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, or hybrid project environments. β€’ Excellent communication, facilitation, and problem-solving skills. β€’ Proficiency in tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, SQL, Power BI, Tableau, Visio, and Microsoft Office Suite. Preferred Qualifications: β€’ Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience). β€’ Experience working with State Government or Department for Children and Families.
