IT Business Analyst Topeka, KS (remote) 6 month contract to hire Overview Our client is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented IT Technical Business Analyst to support a large-scale enterprise systems integration initiative within the Department for Children and Families (DCF). This role serves as a critical liaison between business units, technical teams, and external partners, helping to modernize and streamline complex IT systems. General Responsibilities: • Serve as the Lead Business Analyst on multi-million-dollar enterprise integration projects. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including DCF, HS-EBIT, third-party vendors, and government agencies. • Facilitate workshops, stakeholder interviews, and collaborative sessions to gather and document business and system requirements. • Analyze current systems, workflows, and data flows to identify opportunities for modernization and automation. • Translate business needs into technical specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria. • Lead documentation of current and future state processes, policies, and system interfaces. • Support interface/integration management and configuration/reporting activities. • Assist with data analysis and reporting using tools like SQL, Power BI, and Tableau. • Coordinate with QA teams for test case design, UAT, and solution validation. • Manage requirements traceability, version control, and change management throughout the SDLC. Qualifications: • Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Business Analyst, including 2+ years in a lead role. • Proven experience in analyzing and documenting business and technical requirements for systems integrations. • Strong understanding of modern IT systems, data architecture, and cloud-based solutions. • Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, or hybrid project environments. • Excellent communication, facilitation, and problem-solving skills. • Proficiency in tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, SQL, Power BI, Tableau, Visio, and Microsoft Office Suite. Preferred Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience). • Experience working with State Government or Department for Children and Families.
