This role is for a Business Analyst supporting the Information Technology Department in a large, complex local government organization. The primary responsibility is to assist in the implementation of a large-scale application system by collaborating with a team of analysts and vendor partners. The ideal candidate must reside in South Florida.
The position requires active engagement throughout the project lifecycle, focusing on understanding business processes and requirements to successfully implement a vendor-provided application solution.
Required Experience:
β’ Strong experience working on complex IT software projects in large organizations using Waterfall and Agile methodologies.
β’ Proficient in gathering and documenting business requirements and processes.
β’ Hands-on experience with business analysis in complex software implementations and integrated software solutions.
β’ Skilled in data analysis using tools like Power BI and Excel.
β’ Knowledge of data management and infrastructure.
β’ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
β’ Key Responsibilities 1. Requirement Gathering & Solution DesignTranslate business needs into User Stories, technical specifications, and system designs.
β’ Work closely with stakeholders via interviews, workshops, and meetings to gather accurate and detailed requirements.
β’ Collaborate with technical teams to design effective solutions aligned with business objectives.
Business Process Analysis
Evaluate and document existing business processes.
β’ Identify opportunities for improvement and recommend changes to enhance efficiency and productivity.
Business Insights & Data Analysis
β’ Support strategic decision-making for software integration and architecture.
β’ Familiarity with SQL, data models, ETL, and Microsoft Office applications.
System Implementation & Testing
Participate in system testing, including functional, integration, and user acceptance testing.
β’ Support the creation and execution of test plans and test cases.
Project & Vendor Management
Manage business analysis tasks within Agile and Waterfall projects.
β’ Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery of project milestones.
β’ Engage in vendor management, including organizing demos and supervising implementations.
Change Management
Assist in preparing impact assessments, user training materials, and transition support.
β’ Support end-users during system go-lives and stabilization periods.
Stakeholder Communication
Act as a liaison between business users, technical teams, and project managers.
β’ Provide regular updates, status reports, and presentations to stakeholders.
Continuous Improvement
Evaluate post-implementation performance and identify enhancement opportunities.
β’ Recommend improvements to optimize system usability and effectiveness.
Risk Management
Identify, document, and help mitigate risks and issues.
β’ Escalate critical issues promptly to ensure resolution.
Minimum Education & Experience
Bachelor's Degree required.
β’ Minimum of 5 years of experience in software implementation and business process analysis.
