Job Title: Business Analyst (Financial Systems) Location: Richmond, VA (Hybrid) Interview Mode: In-Person Only Experience Required: 9+ Years About the Role We are hiring for our client seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Financial Business Analyst to support the design, development, and optimization of custom financial systems. This role bridges finance and technology, ensuring business requirements are effectively translated into system solutions that enhance financial reporting, planning, and operations. Key Responsibilities • Collaborate with finance stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business requirements • Translate business needs into functional specifications, user stories, and workflows • Work closely with developers, architects, and QA teams throughout the SDLC • Analyze financial processes and identify automation and efficiency opportunities • Support implementation of financial modules (GL, AP/AR, budgeting, forecasting, etc.) • Perform data analysis, validation, and reconciliation • Execute UAT and document testing outcomes • Create user documentation and provide end-user support • Assist in integrations with ERP, CRM, and data platforms • Ensure compliance with financial regulations, data security, and audit requirements Required Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, IT, or related field • 9+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, preferably in financial systems • Strong understanding of financial processes (GL, reporting, budgeting, grants) • Experience with custom or configurable financial systems • Proficiency in tools like Excel, SQL, and Visio • Experience with SDLC and Agile methodologies • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills • Ability to translate complex financial requirements into technical solutions Preferred Qualifications • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Oracle Financials) • Knowledge of financial data modeling and database structures • Certifications such as CBAP, CFA, CPA, or PMI-PBA • Understanding of GAAP, SOX, and regulatory compliance • Familiarity with APIs, ETL tools, and system integrations • Experience in government/public-sector projects is a plus Key Competencies • Strong financial and business acumen • Technical and systems thinking • Stakeholder management • Attention to detail • Ability to manage multiple priorities • Cross-functional collaboration Additional Requirements • Candidate must be based in the U.S. and work onsite as required • No OPT candidates • Relevant certifications are highly preferred • Strong financial domain experience is mandatory Compensation • W2: $45/hr • C2C: $55/hr
