Role description

Working Title: Business Analyst IT Sr

Job Description:

Enterprise Technology (ET) is seeking a highly skilled Business Analyst IT Senior to join our team working with PeopleSoft Campus Solutions applications. The ideal candidate will work closely with stakeholders, end-users, and technical teams to gather requirements, design solutions, and ensure the effective delivery of PeopleSoft functionality that aligns with business objectives. This role requires deep expertise in PeopleSoft Campus Solutions modules, exceptional analytical skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving in a collaborative environment.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and seven (7) years of experience appropriate to the area of assignment/field; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or training from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

   • Essential Duties: Requirements Gathering and Analysis: Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document functional requirements for PeopleSoft systems and enhancements.

   • System Design and Configuration: Provide functional expertise to design, configure, and implement PeopleSoft solutions, ensuring alignment with business needs and industry best practices.

   • System specifications:

   • Develop and document technical details of overall system architecture, such as database structure, APIs, and server configurations.

   • Create and maintain design specifications, including wireframes, mockups, and detailed interface designs to guide development teams. o

   • Define and document technical specifications, outlining the technologies, platforms, and coding standards to be followed throughout the development lifecycle.

   • Establish and manage interface specifications, detailing protocols and data formats for system integrations (e.g., defining API usage and ensuring data exchange standards like JSON).

   • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure specifications align with business requirements, technical feasibility, and user needs.

   • Ensure all specifications are clear, comprehensive, and actionable to support development and testing processes.

Issue Resolution: Analyze and troubleshoot system issues, identify root causes, and recommend appropriate solutions or enhancements.

Testing and Quality Assurance: Develop test plans, conduct system testing, and support user acceptance testing (UAT) to validate functionality and performance.

Stakeholder Communication: Act as the primary liaison between business users, technical teams, and external vendors to ensure clear communication and alignment on project goals and deliverables.

Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation, including functional requirements, technical specifications, process flows, and user manuals, to support system changes and user training.

Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to optimize and streamline PeopleSoft processes and workflows to enhance efficiency and user satisfaction.

Compliance and Security: Ensure solutions adhere to organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and security standards. Desired Qualifications:

   • Deep functional knowledge of PeopleSoft modules e.g. Campus Solutions including, but not limited to, Student Records, Student Financials, Financial Aid, Campus Community and Admissions.

   • Experience with PeopleSoft implementation, upgrades, and customization projects.

   • Strong understanding of business processes and workflows within PeopleSoft Campus Solutions.

   • Proficiency in creating functional requirements documentation and test plans.

   • Experience creating technical specifications and working with PeopleSoft engineers.

   • Ability to work with SQL queries to analyze and validate data.

   • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

   • Excellent problem-solving skills to identify root causes and develop innovative solutions.

   • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

   • Experience with requirements gathering, documentation, and validation.

   • Adaptability to changing project requirements, technology advancements, and business priorities, and ability to quickly learn and apply new skills.

   • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).

   • Knowledge of business process modeling techniques and tools.

   • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
