Business Analyst

About the Role We are seeking a strong mid to senior level Business Analyst to support strategic initiatives for a growing healthcare-focused organization. This role will work closely with business and technology stakeholders to understand needs, translate them into clear requirements, and guide solutions from concept through implementation. The Business Analyst will use excellent communication, analytical, and problem solving skills to ensure project deliverables meet business objectives and regulatory requirements. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys facilitating discussions, documenting processes, and serving as a key connector between business teams and IT. This is a 6-month contract role with the potential for an extension and/or full-time hire in the future. Key Responsibilities • Serve as the lead Business Analyst for multiple strategic initiatives and projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals • Facilitate requirements workshops, discovery sessions, and brainstorming meetings with cross functional business and technical teams • Elicit, analyze, and document business requirements, use cases, and user stories, securing approval from business stakeholders • Create and update business process flows, diagrams, and supporting documentation for processes impacted by assigned projects • Maintain clear documentation throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring information is organized, accessible, and does not overburden business partners • Partner with project managers, product owners, architects, developers, and QA to support effective solution design and delivery • Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and acceptance criteria to validate that system changes meet requirements • Track and manage issues, defects, and change requests to timely resolution, communicating impacts and status to stakeholders • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior analysts, including support with requirements elicitation, documentation, and workflow mapping • Support organizational goals related to compliance and diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives • Perform other business analysis responsibilities as assigned Required Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Business, Information Systems, Healthcare Administration, or a related field • Minimum 4 years of experience in a Business Analyst role, with hands on work in • Requirements gathering and documentation • Business and technical analysis • Process mapping and workflow design • Experience working in the healthcare industry or a closely related healthcare setting • Familiarity with healthcare regulations, such as HIPAA, and comfort working in regulated environments • Experience working in both waterfall and agile environments • Proficiency with core productivity tools, including • Microsoft Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and process mapping tools such as Visio or similar • Experience with project and work management tools, for example • Azure DevOps, JIRA, or other application lifecycle management tools • Portfolio or project management tools such as PPM platforms or Smartsheet Core Competencies • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving • Advanced business analysis skills, including translating business needs into clear requirements • Demonstrated ability to improve business processes and identify efficiencies • Impact and influence skills, with the ability to drive clarity among diverse stakeholders • Commitment to continuous learning and staying current on industry and regulatory changes • Ability to support and execute testing, including test planning, test case design, and user acceptance testing coordination • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging to both business and technical audiences • Proven ability to collaborate with others in a fully remote setting
