Role description
Our client, a major Oil and gas company, is looking for a Business Analyst to work on a long term contract in Spring, TX
Main Functions
• Solves organizational problems by analyzing business requirements, documenting processes and designing solutions. Conducts interviews with key project stakeholders and document and presents the results. Recommends process improvements and alternative solutions. Assists business users, project managers and leadership in optimizing the scope, benefits and risks of proposed projects. Facilitates change management efforts associated with project. May write and maintain user documentation. Position will receive direction and support. Minimal work direction needed, highly skilled and knowledgeable to the position.
• Business Analyst on Expert Level, could be described also as Business Analyst Professional, he or she might be taking care of complex scoping issues, perform project estimation, make recommendation for requirements approach, understand and manage principles of business strategies, etc.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
• Requirements gathering, Visio, strong communication and presentation skills, process mapping, MS Office
Data Structuring & Visibility
• Identify and organize fragmented or missing data across supply chain processes.
• Develop dashboards, reports, and KPIs to support decision-making and operational transparency
• Build and maintain data models and tools (e.g., Power BI, Excel, SQL) to support evolving business needs.
• Support and refine SCSC project integration timelines for new scopes, prioritizing based on activity, scope, and value.
• Track and report SCSC statistics, implementation progress, risks, and challenges.
• Conduct issue investigations and perform data mining to identify root causes and improvement opportunities.
Process Improvement & Strategy
• Analyze current workflows and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and scalability.
• Support strategic initiatives by providing insights and recommendations based on data trends.
• Collaborate with leadership to define and implement best practices across the organization.
• Document new processes and create training materials for broader team adoption.
• Evaluate and support transitions to new task management software.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Serve as a key liaison between Supply Chain, Wells, Procurement, EMIT, as needed
• Facilitate alignment across teams by translating business needs into actionable data solutions.
• Support change management efforts and help drive adoption of new tools and processes.
Project Ownership
• Lead or support special projects focused on operational excellence, cost optimization, and digital enablement.
• Track project milestones, risks, and outcomes; communicate progress to stakeholders.
