Role description
Role: Business Analyst (Water Utilities & Energy)
Location: Coventry, UK
Work Mode: Hybrid (3 Days Onsite per Week)
Contract Duration: 4-12 Months
We are currently looking for an experienced Business Analyst with strong UK Water Utilities and Energy sector experience to join a major transformation programme based in Coventry.
Key Responsibilities:
• Gather, analyse, and document business, functional, and non-functional requirements
• Prepare BRDs, FRDs, user stories, use cases, process maps, and workflow diagrams
• Work closely with business stakeholders and delivery teams to ensure requirements are clearly defined and understood
• Facilitate workshops, requirement discussions, walkthroughs, and stakeholder meetings
• Support testing activities including test case preparation, SIT, UAT, defect management, and validation
• Ensure complete requirement traceability throughout the project lifecycle
• Collaborate with onshore and offshore teams in a client-facing environment
• Support delivery across Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall methodologies
Required Skills:
• 8+ years of Business Analysis experience
• Strong experience within UK Water Utilities and/or Energy sector
• Good understanding of utility business processes including billing, metering, CRM, asset management, and customer operations
• Experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF)
• Strong Data Management experience
• Good understanding of Azure Cloud environments
• Experience producing BRDs, FRDs, user stories, use cases, and process documentation
• Hands-on experience supporting SIT, UAT, defect tracking, and validation activities
• Strong stakeholder management and workshop facilitation skills
• Experience with JIRA, Confluence, Azure DevOps, HP ALM, Visio, and Excel
Preferred Experience:
• Previous experience working with UK Water Utility clients
• Experience working within cross-functional delivery teams
• Knowledge of UK utility regulatory and operational environments
Eligibility:
• Must have valid UK work authorisation
• Must be willing to work from the client location in Coventry 3 days per week
