Role description
Legal Operations Business Analyst – 6 Month FTC
London – Hybrid (c. 2–3 days in the office)
Salary: up to £63,900 per annum (pro rata) + excellent benefits
Looking to build or deepen your experience in a leading legal environment, working right at the intersection of data, operations and strategy?
We’re partnering with a highly regarded international law firm in London who are looking for a Legal Operations Business Analyst to join their Legal Operations team on a 6-month fixed-term contract. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain high-quality experience in a complex, fast-paced partnership environment, working closely with senior stakeholders and Legal Ops Business Partners.
The role
You’ll sit within a collaborative Legal Operations team that helps partners and senior leaders make smarter, data-led decisions. The work is varied, commercial and genuinely influential.
Typical responsibilities will include:
• Working with business stakeholders and Legal Ops Business Partners to understand issues, challenges and opportunities
• Gathering, structuring and validating data from multiple sources to support key projects
• Producing actionable insights through detailed data analysis and modelling (primarily using Excel and Power BI)
• Presenting findings and recommendations to a broad stakeholder group, including senior leadership
• Interpreting trends across different data sets to support strategic decision-making and performance reporting
• Providing best-practice advice, technical support and informal training to colleagues on data tools and reporting
• Supporting project management activity – helping to scope work, track progress and deliver against clearly defined briefs
• Contributing to continuous improvement of processes, reporting and how the firm uses data across Legal Operations
You’ll gain broad exposure across the firm, touching on financial performance, operational efficiency, client behaviours and more.
About you
We’re keen to speak to candidates who can demonstrate:
• Proven Business Analysis experience in a commercial, professional services or legal environment
• Strong analytical skills and a natural curiosity about data – comfortable working with large, sometimes complex data sets
• Excellent Excel skills and experience with data visualisation tools (ideally Power BI)
• The ability to translate business questions into clear analysis and tangible outputs
• Strong communication skills – confident presenting findings and influencing stakeholders at different levels
• A collaborative, solutions-focused approach and the ability to manage multiple priorities calmly and pragmatically
• Experience of project management and/or process mapping (e.g. Visio) would be a distinct advantage
• A background in legal or partnership-based environments is highly desirable, but strong BA experience in another professional services setting will also be considered.
What’s on offer
• Salary up to £63,900 per annum (pro rata)
• 6 Month Fixed-Term Contract with hybrid working (London office)
• Excellent wider benefits package
Most importantly, you’ll gain or enhance your experience within a top-tier legal environment, working with a high-performing Legal Operations team and senior stakeholders on genuinely impactful projects.
