Role: Business Analyst
Location: New jersey(local Candidate)
Job Summary:
Design & Implementation (50%)
β’ Interface with Client staff, vendors, consultant, and customers as appropriate to lead service design,
transition, operation and continual improvement of business technology solutions including:
β’ Lead the analysis and recommendation of innovative solutions to improve efficiency and quality
of process, increase productivity, availability and performance to aide in long term strategic and
operational goals.
β’ Business analysis and development of functional and non-functional requirements;
β’ Incorporation of business architecture into any solution design;
β’ Documentation of requirements, test case oversight and change management procedures from an
Client business owner perspective for existing mission critical systems & applications ensuring
change meets (or exceeds) business objectives
β’ Alignment of change management processes with Client processes
β’ Alignment of all Client technology services and quality management processes
β’ Oversight of the design of applications and the mapping of functional business requirements into
technical requirements/agile stories.
β’ Management of vendor relationships and ensuring that business goals and service levels are met.
β’ Transition of services and oversight of application migration when appropriate, including
documentation, communication, and approvals with all relevant Client Units and business owners
β’ Lead project team and organize and plan team meetings, discuss project logistics and ensure
business concerns are addressed throughout the project life cycle
β’ Responsible for the overall planning, execution and success of complex projects.
β’ Collaborate within cross-functional teams to deliver and maintain best-in-class solutions.
β’ Partner across the Client to translate and evangelize business needs/strategies into solutions that
interoperate, and which create efficiencies, which provide the highest level of customer experience
and which drive improved utilization of self-service/automation by internal and/or external users.
Service Strategy (30%)
β’ Work as part of a team to Identify and establish strategic long-term solution technology goals and
policies and procedures
based on business objectives
β’ In partnership with IT and business stakeholders, evaluate alternative solutions to meet business
requirements and align to
IT strategies, utilizing proven tools/methodologies to facilitate build/buy decisions.
β’ Research emerging solution technologies and assess their maturity and applicability to the
applications being developed;
β’ Work with product and portfolio management on feasibility, cost and requirements for new tools,
services and products
β’ Maintains up to date knowledge of assigned business and technology solutions and uses knowledge
to propose and guide business improvements
β’ Consult regularly with staff, volunteers and users regarding tools, solutions and product needs and
develop strategic plans and roadmaps based on budget and business drivers
β’ Active participation in the multi-year business technology roadmap. Collaborate with partners in
IT and across the Client footprint to ensure designs are consistent with broader organization strategies
and roadmaps.
β’ Decipher, solution options, and articulate benefits/risks including pros and cons of solutions as part
of service strategy development.
β’ Collaborate and continuously develop strong and productive working relationships with members
of the business and Client-IT Teams.
β’ Provides expert consultation for business projects that often integrate new technology and/or carry
out organization-wide operational and technology functions.
β’ Provides expert leadership of and input to review of designs, installation, configuration,
maintenance, testing, quality assurance, troubleshooting, and problem resolution of mission-critical
systems, projects, databases, and solutions.
Service Operations and Continual Improvement (20%)
β’ Responsible for incident management including analysing/troubleshooting complex support issues
and for driving service
restoration through proper escalation of business-critical solutions by using a combination of
independent and team judgment and knowledge to resolve problems.
β’ Independent and team-based research to resolve highly complex problems (business and technical).
β’ Assists service strategy including in the formulation, analysis and review of solutions business case
documents, project plans and schedules to ensure accurate and valid to required business needs
β’ Reviews, updates and develops documentation including but not limited to: requirements,
validations, processes, scripts, and procedures for future reference or use.
β’ Responsible for the consistency, clarity, and quality in all documentation and other artifacts by
reviewing, validating, editing, rewriting, and authoring as necessary.
β’ Responsible for sharing knowledge across organizational boundaries to ensure the highest level of
service. Mentor and train junior analyst or other IT Staff in Business Analysis best practices.
β’ Acts as liaison between business and IT for assigned projects
