Role description
Business Analyst
Salt Lake City, UT
Long-Term Contract: $30-$35 per hour
Project Overview:
This role supports the implementation of nCino, a cloud-based Loan Origination System (LOS), which is being introduced to replace the existing Credit Lead platform. The project aims to streamline and modernize commercial lending operations, from deal creation through credit approval, due diligence, and document preparation. The UAT Coordinator / Business Analyst will play a key role in ensuring the new system is tested thoroughly and meets the functional and operational needs of business users prior to go-live.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented UAT (User Acceptance Testing) Analyst with strong banking domain knowledge, specifically in loan origination and servicing. This role will be instrumental in testing and validating our new Loan Origination System (LOS). The ideal candidate is a fast learner who can quickly understand new systems, business requirements, and future-state process flows, translating them into effective test scenarios that ensure the solution meets both functional and regulatory needs.
Key Responsibilities:
· Quickly understand and interpret process flows, business requirements, and functional specifications to design comprehensive UAT scenarios.
· Develop, review, and execute UAT test cases/scripts to validate end-to-end loan origination processes (application, credit review, underwriting, approvals, closing, servicing hand-off).
· Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, and technical teams to confirm that workflows align with desired future-state operations.
· Document test results, track defects, and ensure timely resolution through clear communication with development and business teams.
· Validate system integrations (core banking, credit bureau, compliance, collateral management, document management).
· Ensure regulatory and compliance requirements (HMDA, KYC, Fair Lending, CRA, etc.) are incorporated in UAT coverage.
· Manage test data, creating loan scenarios across multiple products (consumer, commercial, mortgage, small business).
· Provide clear status reporting on UAT progress, risks, and issues.
· Participate in requirement walkthroughs, process design reviews, and cross-team workshops to identify gaps and ensure test readiness.
· Track testing progress, log defects in Azure DevOps (ADO), and drive issue resolution with technical teams.
· Facilitate UAT sessions, status meetings, and final sign-off activities.
· Help uncover training or process gaps during testing and coordinate handoffs with the change management or training teams.
Required Qualifications
· Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
· 3–5 years of experience in UAT, QA, or Business Analysis in the banking/financial services industry.
· Demonstrated ability to read and interpret process flows and translate them into testable scenarios.
· Proven ability to learn quickly, adapt to complex systems, and grasp new workflows.
· Familiarity with test management tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, JIRA, ALM).
· Knowledge of lending regulatory requirements (HMDA, KYC, Fair Lending, etc.).
· Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
· Excellent communication and facilitation skills across cross-functional teams.
· Highly proactive and self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership.
· Must be available to work during Mountain or Pacific Time Zone hours.
Preferred Qualifications
· Experience in Loan Origination System implementation or replacement projects.
· Exposure to core banking systems, credit bureau interfaces, collateral/document management systems.
· Agile/Scrum environment exposure and participation in PI planning or sprint ceremonies.

· Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills.
· Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
